Palmer is awesome. His lectures will always tie in economics to something you never thought it would be relevant to, which is really interesting. Never a dull moment, you are compelled to pay attention. Exams, however, are quite difficult compared to the rest of the econ profs, so attendance is mandatory.

Awesome prof, midterms were ridiculously easy provided you understood economics!! December and April exams were HARD but it is easily balanced out between tutorials and quizzes and midterms. He explains all of the concepts very well, and even if you miss something there TA's are there to help you understand the concept. Highly recommended!

Palmer is definitely not your easy, laid back prof. You have to go to his class, to understand what he is teaching. Often he covers materials that arent in the textbook. I really enjoyed his classes. He is a very entertaining guy! Exam wise, his questions are killer.. very hard. You can still do well in his class, but you need to work for it.

Interesting guy, awesome clothing selection. Freakishly hard exams (very random questions, purposely makes them hard). However online quizzes are a joke and if you show up to class, it shouldn't be too hard to get an A or B. However, his exams can be frustrating in comparison to Parkin's. VERY LITTLE MATH required which is nice.

Overall, a fun class to attend. The textbook is pretty good as well. Class covers mostly theory with no math at all. In that sense, wasn't prepared well enough for 2nd year economics courses. Easy to do well in the course. Take a look at the practice midterms and the exams will be a joke even if you just memorize the answers.

Prof. Palmer is fun. Economics can be dry, but when you have a guy using the Economics of Sharing a Shower to demonstrate concepts, you know he appreciates that the world doesn't need to be dry to be informative. Love the man!!!!

He was fun througout the year YET if you believe that his lectures are great, you're trapped! Mostly he gives past exams questions yet I don't find his course useful at all. All you do is do past papers. He's really bias and his book is really worthless...Generally speaking you can't get much out of his class

Worst professor I had. Having taken econ before I could quickly see how biased and unclear his teaching was. After a few lectures, I couldn't take sitting in that class anymore so I stopped going. Exams we're a joke because half the questions were repeats of old exams - just go on his website and do the online readings. prof Parkins is much better

In general a funny and charismatic teacher. However whatever is taught in the class doesn't really relate to the exams - and he gives monthly exams. He develops a lot of concepts and they're very interesting, but don't expect them to apply to test material.

He does a very very poor job explaining concepts. His book is written like an unorganized, agitated speech without any clear main points for you to grasp, not to mention how outdated it is. His lectures are full of examples that don't add much, if at all, to the core concepts. His exam questions are ambiguous and poorly worded. AN UNQUALIFIED PROF.

He's nutty, witty, a little off-the-wall, likes corny jokes, cares about his students, and is excited by teaching. What more could a student want? (And his butt is kinda cute, too!).

Entertaining lectures, but gave the students a misconception about economics. Specifically, he would constantly put down sociology & political sci--which I found out later in grad school is actually responsible for several key breakthroughs in econ (eg Gary Becker). Very careless of him in this age of inter-disciplinary research.
