Kate has an interesting personality. Her comments are always super funny and maybe not very professional Id say lol but it keeps the class entertaining. This class is truly NOT hard. SO many projects but mostly EASY! No book, but plan to spend about $100 for supplies thruout the semester! Always willing to help. Pro: her pups in classroom! Yay!!

Comment:

Pros: Very knowledgeable about art & art history, will help you with your work if you need it, very outspoken about opinions which can make for interesting class period. Cons: Always late.. Can come off a bit judgmental at times, not the easiest grader, her grading criteria is every project is worth 4 points. Even the final.

This is not a hard class, and she is not a hard grader. Just show up to class and do your projects. This was one of my favorite classes and I had a lot of fun doing the art projects! The puppet final took a lot of time but I think my classmates and I left the class proud of our work. There's no textbook but you have to buy your art supplies.

Kate is by far my favorite professor at SDSU. She is clear on what she expects from each student on day one and is extremely helpful and encouraging when she sees you making an effort in the class. As long as you are kind and put effort into your artwork (even if it is titeous), you should get an easy A. Its art! Relax and have fun! :

This Art class was so much fun. You can tell Kate enjoys her job and offers help whenever asked. the assignments are fun and allow you to be creative. The things you learn in this class can easily be incorporated into a classroom setting. I have nothing else to say except that Kate is probably one of my favorite professors so far.

I absolutely love Kate! She is not only helpful in teaching the class material but she is also helpful with other classes. Her go with the flow personality helped with the stress of other classes. I looked forward to every class meeting!

Kate is a very laid back professor. This class is like no other class. She doesn't care what you do. The class is focused on YOU, and she doesn't talk a lot. she lets you do your own thing and have fun. Projects are super easy. Puppet more time consuming, but exciting. I have never had so much fun in here honestly.

She is absolutely not professional at all! She brings in her dogs to class (who are harmless, by the way) and she doesn't always teach you how to complete an assignment- she just gives the assignment and tells you to do it. The worst part of the class is the big portfolio you have to do. It seems totally unnecessary and it's not explained in class.

Kate is a great lady. At first I didn't like her because she is very blunt, but she really cares about her students! Projects take a LOT of time and make sure you do things the way she wants, she's picky. More work and higher expectations than I would have expected for an art class but it was fun and laid back. Good class overall.
