He was my favorite business professor. He's smart and goes over the content in a way anyone could understand even coming from no knowledge of the law world. He goes over the basics of everything and explains it super well; I did not think I would like this class because he is "a hardass" but he has basic rules. Pay attention during classgood.

Learned more in this class than in my whole high school career. Don't take this class if you're not slightly passionate about Law, Politics, and the Supreme Court. He will make you read a decent amount, but it's worth it. Don't skip class. If you treat him with respect he will treat you the same. He is well respected in my book.

I had him for Law Justice and Society. He was very passionate about the topic, and if you were too, you did great. I enjoyed his lectures and found everything he talked about interesting.

He lays it all out for you and is pretty funny. The best part is the arbitration excercise-- he's tough on you and you have to be prepared, but it is a lot more interesting than most classes you have to take

I'm in law school now and if weren't for doc melvin I'd be working some job I hate. He told me that I was smart enough to go to law school and I took the LSATs because he really prodded me. 4 years later, I still remember a lot of the way he taught business and law. Get to know him- he writes an awesome rec. letter too!

Sometimes people think he doesn't care if you pass or fail. But after I finally approached him, the dude really helped me out. I did really bad on teh first test, but for teh second test I went to see him a bunch of times and (when I could get in his office- long lines) I aced the secodn exam. He cuts no slack though--so slackers don't like him.

I really liked Melvin, but you have to understand a couple things. He's a typical business-type. The kind who wants to chomp cigars, "press the flesh," and "hit the links." His personality can be VERY obnoxious. And he's NOT a doctor, he's a JD. Aside from those gripes, I got a lot out of the three classes I took with him.

Aside from the fact that no other individual on the planet with a J.D. requires people to call him or her doctor (because it's pompous) and his obvious bias against women, he was a decent professor.

I am actually in Law school now and I'm taking Con law. He actually did a great job of explaining the black letter law without going into the analytical depth required now. If you're planning on going to law school take his class, do the work and take good notes you'll learn a lot.

He's the MAN! Best course I had at E-town. He was great at relating it to real life situations and I actually looked forward to class. Tests are hard though--because this dude wrote the book! (for real).

Intimidating at first, but his tests are a piece of cake, and as long as you put forth the effort, you should get a good grade. His arrogance is a turn off though.
