I haven't had this teacher yet. I just wanted to say, it's college children, the teacher isn't going to hold your hand. College classes are all about lecture, you should have known that by the course descriptions, an education is hard work.

She has great stories but she forgets things she's already said and repeats herself constantly, which wastes a bit of time. not specific with things she wants to teach us and insists that we pay attention to her every move to decide for ourselves what parts of her speech are important. I liked her class but there needs to be more order.

I would not take this class again she is not helpful at all and is very rude when you ask questions for the projects she assigns. She is clearly only working to finance her travels not because she likes to teach.

Mrs. Magner is a great teacher!! I had her for two classes back to back and they were so fun. Do the work she assigns and you'll pass the class. She makes class very fun and the work is easy. You do get to watch videos and such but just read the book and you will be fine.

She has been there for a long time and she has a passion for art. Her lectures are long and sometimes I fought sleep. Pictures are beautiful and assignments are super easy. Just do the work and take notes.

Not by any means the easy class I expected going into an "art appreciation" class. Teacher was very helpful on the 3+ page term paper you write. Only way to not pass this class is to not try. If you have an A when you finish off the regular class you don't take the final (which sounded downright terrifying if I had to take it)

Easy classAttend lectures because she quizzes you off lecture and chapter(READ TEXT)If you have an A at the end of the class, you dont need to take the final or attend class anymoreI shaved off 2 weeks which gave me time for otherfinalsMake sure to get good grades on quizzes so you wont have to take the final because then you wont remember anything

This class is Boring! She quizzes on material that was not gone over and doesn't explain things very well. Also, she makes the final 30% of your grade so good luck!

She is extremely boring, and not helpful what so ever. There are quizzes that are easy if you know all the art history she is talking about. She does not care if you go over the book or not. There were times were she would start the chapter and would be done in like 5 minutes and she would let us go early.DO NOT TAKE IT!

A 3 and half hour class of talking and watching videos. If you are into Art and it's history then you might enjoy it but if you are not then do not take this class. Attendance was mandatory, and there is a lot of studying you need to do unless you have good memorization.

I don't know why people think she's monotone. She's not monotone at all, in fact she talks with great enthusiasm and gusto. She is hilarious and has awesome stories that accompany her slides. Very interesting class especially if you like art!

Slide show of her yearly visits to museums & sites abroad. Lecture notes are crucial for tests - study them, memorize your slide info. Ms Magner relates interesting side notes & stories to make the history come alive. Syllabus driven grade, Mandatory attendance, academic class, NOT an art class. I am an Artist and got A's in all her classes.

HATED this class! She is so boring. If you're good at memorizing things, take it. She is mono-tone which makes it hard to stay awake & pay attention. DO the portfolio & the mid-term ahead of time. Do well on the quizzes. So far I failed every quiz but got an A on my portfolio & term paper, so I have a C so now I have to take the final.

If you really enjoy art history then this class is for you. It's not easy but it's worth it. Prepare yourself for heavy memorization/understanding different art works -she only asks for Title and name of Artist in tests.

i purposely chose one of her shortest classes bc they're so painfully dull. i fall asleep everytime bc there's 0% class interaction. the entire period all she does is talk &all we do is take notes when we don't really know what to write bc she's never clear about what's going to be on the tests?which, btw, are very hard. this is the worst class.

awesome teacher, very thorough and helpful. took all of her slide lecture series and amazing thing is she has seen all those works of art in person so she knows tons about it. if you earn an A in the class you dont have to take the final. i strongly recommend her. she is great!

Nancy is one of the most mono tone prof. I've ever had she can really TALK and it is really hard to pass her test she makes so you have to remember the book and everything she says then she makes you do a portfolio that is not that bad but still kind of time consuming. point is I never want to take her again!

Magner is great at teaching; She knows a lot and has seenn a lot of Art. I enjoyed the videos she showed us most of all, i thought they were pretty interesting, though sometimes you will fall asleep because all the lights are off and it gets pretty cozy lol. Not such an easy class and not so hard. I still recommend :) Shes very nice

Professor Magner is very thorough. She's seen ALL the art in person that she lectures on, and tells some fun stories. In my class, we only did two quizzes, a midterm, and a paper. If you pull an A in the class, you don't have to take the final. Not an easy class, but very interesting if you like art.

This is my 2nd semester with this professor (the first being art appreciation, ART B1) and I have to say I enjoy what she teaches a lot! The class is not by any means easy, so you have to work for your grade...and I mean work! An A is possible as I have achieved an A both semesters. Wonderful professor, interesting class, be sure to pay attention!
