Great professor. One of the best classes I've taken. Hard grader but very fair and gives you the opportunity to improve your grade. Really enjoyed the readings and the class discussion.

HORRIBLE professor. speaks unintellegibly, makes up information that is ridiculously untrue, often goes off on pointless tangents. impossible to hold a meaningful conversation with b/c he always misinterprets or distorts what is said. bad poet/writer--his work is trite and hackneyed, which makes it difficult to respect him as a lit prof. STAY AWAY

he's very nice and his classes are never demanding, but they're not rewarding either. sometimes he blatantly makes things up, which is unintentionally funny.

I actually liked Silex. Our comp class was based on film, he let us write about interesting topics and was really helpful with developing essays with many types of structures. I enjoyed his class :)

This guy is awful. He says the craziest, random...est, stupidest things you'll ever hear in a classroom. I don't know how he made his way through school...or life. If you are in the class, make a list of all the outrageous things he says. Take it on long trips for hours of entertainment.

Silex was virtually inaccessible via e-mail and maintains extremely limited office hours that he rarely adheres to. His academic policies are ridiculously difficult for a freshman level course. His English skills are hampered by his tri-lingual background. I do not recommend Silex as a professor.

One of the most interesting professors on campus. He is very sensitive and open to his students' questions and ideas. Sound constructivist/existentialist approach to teaching. Extremely talented and intelligent with a terrific sense of humor.

great creative writing teacher. if you think glaser's better, it's probably because you can't write and need someone to stroke your fragile ego and not tell you self-centered emotional drivel is good writing. sorry. Silex is awesome.

you're never quite sure whether or not he actually knows what he's talking about. He misdefines things... goes off on tangents, and is generally ineffective at conveying information. From what i've read he's a great poet, but as a comp teacher, not so

He doesn't bother with much ivory tower polish but god is this guy intense, a decievingly easy grader, he'll stare you down with eyes of death and then give you an easy A+, also an outstanding poet.

He's a good professor and those students with narrow, Republican views of the world should not take his class. Otherwise, he's cool!

Misspelled words, used bad grammar, made sweeping generalizations and actually insulted the entire class during one session. Glaser is much, much better as a Creative Writing teacher.

This guy is a complete moron. He makes horrible generalizations about race, religion and lifestyle. He's not well spoken and he can't spell. There's a lot more. But in short, he's a horrible teacher if you actually LIKE English and want to learn.
