Dr. Henderson is my favourite prof at Acadia. He is passionate about what he teaches, and it shows. His midterms and exams are writing heavy, but he lets you pick from the questions so you have the opportunity to write about what you understand best. The first class I took with him was an elective but I wound up changing my major because of him.

Good prof and knows his stuff and makes lectures interesting and open to questions! However, he made the course so difficult that I am never going to take a class if he is teaching it. Midterms were 4 paragraph answers and 2 essays. He marks VERY hard, where it is just unfair. I love learning about history but I had an awful experience this time.

Dr. Henderson didn't teach anything other than summarize the readings from textbooks. If you don't do the readings you won't do well, he only tests on readings, marks attendance do the readings you'll be fine.

Comment:
Dr. Henderson loves his subject and his lectures show it, even if the subject is profoundly boring. Some texts were quite boring and I found his grading somewhat arbitrary as there was a heavy focus on group projects (30% of the total grade) and that had a detrimental effect on my mark. However, he loves his craft and deserves a lot of respect

I have been in many of his classes and he is by far my favorite professor at Acadia! He is such a nice man, has straight-forward lectures and is a fair marker. He provides very quick feedback, and provides students with multiple opportunities to get the best grade. Also, doesn't care if you submit an assignment at 3:30am instead of 12am!!

He clearly cares about teaching, and has the passion for it, his classes were engaging. He required extensive papers for a second year course, and marked them far to harshly! His exams were not easy, but not hard and did not makeup the bulk of the grade. He's engaging and intelligent, but he should realize not all knowing, others are intelligent to

Definitely my favourite professor at Acadia. He is straight forward, no tricks, fair marker and is hilarious in a 3 hour night class. I wish he taught more classes, I easily would have taken every one from him. I like how his lecture style is straight forward and he gives you clear answers.

The BEST prof to take intro history with! I took both sections with him and did well both times. Lectures are fantastic and is super open to questions during class. Tests are fairly easy if you study. Will help you with anything you need and is very understanding. A great prof to have during your first year.

Great history prof! His lectures are for the most part pretty interesting, and very little depends on you reading the textbook. He also does group work activities which are easy grades to help boost your mark. Midterms are easy if you study, and overall a very engaging, fun prof! Highly recommend the course

Not the easiest prof I've ever had, but he's really friendly, and helpful if you need it, and funny, and really wants to make the class interesting. His lectures are always great, with a mixture of text and pictures that he explains. He's one of the best.
