Entire class revolves around her (often extreme) opinions. If any other opinion is voiced, it is almost immediately shut down/tuned out without any regard for its merits. She seems like a nice person, but she takes this intro level sociology too seriously. Doesn't let you view tests after taking them. Strongly suggest against this professor.

This class is HARD! She does require you to put forth a lot of effort. Her research paper is killer. Her quizzes are short answer. She will help you if you ask, but she can make you feel like an idiot for asking. I liked the class and her teaching style. But if you are looking for something easy, don't take her.

I was really not happy with this teacher. Her notes were terrible and I was never sure what was going to be on the test. She doesn't post the tests so you can view them to see the questions you have missed. She requires that you post on the db on 4 separate days, so if you are looking for flexibility with an online class, don't take this one!

Enrolled in her online course and its quite hard (& I have a 4.0). If you are taking an online course for schedule flexibility DONT TAKE HER! You must submit things daily to receive full credit. She doesn't list comments/suggestions on how to improve your scores & doesn't show quizzes after you have completed them. Not sure how to improve w/o this.

I took the class online. She uses DB A LOT. She's very helpful if you ask. Weekly quizzes. 4 Questions so you can't mess up. Class discussion and participation on DB was the major part of your grade. Easy except for the Midterm Paper and Final which you need to be an English Major do. Recommend her if you like writing papers.

OK, I took this professor online, it was A LOT more then what was needed. I never used the textbook. Passes with an A. Her papers-if you read the instructions and answer every question you will do just fine. The one thing i liked was that she FORCED you talk in discussion for a grade :)

Can someone please explain what it takes to pass this class? I feel as though I am giving her all the answers she could ask for in the quizzes and forum, and she still doesn't give me a good grade. This class is putting more stress on me than I need.

This class was a lot more work than I had anticipated in an introductory level course. Good grades are doable, but you have to really work for them. She resopnds to your posts and helps clarify things. However, quizes are so short that any small mistakes can really impact that grade. In this class you will really internalize the material.

Blew my mind! Fascinating and funny. The paper is really stressful, but you feel that you learned somthing when all was said and done. Highly recomend her class!

As the previous post stated the mid-term and final paper is a killer, but she gives you the information you need to make a good grade. Great, supportive teacher! Although the topic (Sociology of the Aging)is horribly boring, she adds spunk to it. She is very helpful to students who need help as long as they make an effort in the class. The final paper is killer but she grades reasonably.

Ms. Hall is a wonderful teacher. Very professional and very passionate about her job. She provokes thinking. This was an online class and participation is extremely necessary and mandatory. Simple quizzes along with discussions that are interesting. Midterm and Final are written essays. Do what you are suppose to and you will do fine!

I am also in her class, I think its good we have DB discussion. I dont think she attacks us. She is just trying to get you think critically and to back ur reply up. Its a better way of learning instead of memorizing answers to definitions. You can not just lay back in this class, its high tense.
