Great professor! Cares about your grade. He makes sure you understand the material and wont continue lecture until he thinks everyone understands.

Comment:
He's probably the best professor in the department. Well respected by the students but seems very disrespected by the department. This is probably because he actually wants the students to learn the material and understand it rather than stressing them out all semester and relying on huge curves to pass the course like many do. A rare gem in ECE.

Sometimes unclear and rambling, but extremely respected and amazingly kind. Gutschlag is a super nice guy who can go into depth on basically any EE topic down to the atom level. Lectures are hit and miss. Sometimes they don't make any sense, sometimes they clear up so many questions.

Interesting man. We had to teach ourselves most of the material, he just did examples a lot. Class was cancelled frequently. He does not respond to emails well and is hard to find, but he is very smart and can help you a lot if you find him. Very relaxed and flexible about due dates and assignments. Also, tests are open book.

Great teacher! He explained things well and only taught what he thought was important. The only time we used the book was for homework. As long as you studied and kept up in class the tests were straight foward. All of his lectures and notes are online, so going to class is not mandatory. If you have to take EE327 This is the way to go.

Amazing prof. This is the person to take EE 327 from. He was a mechanical engineer who came back and got his masters in EE, so he knows what needs to be taught especially to a class that is for ME. All his classes are available for online viewing so it's okay if you miss class. Tests are straightforward. Overall best prof. for the class.

He is a fair grader and a good instructor. There was no language or accent barrier with him. The course was outlined very well and the expectations were set at the beginning. All tests were administered as if they were real world situations. If you have the choice, take this guy because there aren't many of this quality left in academia.

Extremely helpful, feel bad for the guy, took this class in J-Term and he would come in on the weekends so we could have lab time. Very nice man, great help, makes you feel like you're getting your moneys' worth. Had for 365 + some lab weeks, overall a great person.

He's a really boring teacher but a nice guy. He's always willing to help if you need it, and his tests are pretty easy to get a B. What ever the class average is, he makes that a middle B for the exams. He is a fair teacher.

The first half of the course is worthless fluff, the second half is insane coding that you dont know how to do and he can't/won't explain to you. At the least, you are forced to learn concepts, but he won't teach you them.

Very good in lab courses. Lecture courses can be boring (goes into too much detail). Very helpful.

Very helpful, maybe too helpful. Takes things to extremes, when you ask a simple question you get a 1-hr lecture. Very detailed. Test-somewhat easy, his take home-easy to cheat. Want you to learn the lessons of life in small time frame. Workaholic!
