Perhaps one of the smartest people I've ever met. He's a master at going off on insane tangents and somehow finding his way back to the main point. He's VERY eccentric, but that only adds to the fun of having a class with him, and he's very friendly. If you can keep up with his thought process, you'll be golden.

There was rarely any work for this class aside from three exams that just consisted of writing 2 essays for each one. The prompts are worded in a really confusing way, but he's usually an easy grader. The lectures are usually just him talking about whatever he wants the whole time. He is very entertaining!

Honestly a pretty funny professor and his class was quite enjoyable. I enjoyed a lot of the movies he showed in class, and his lectures (although a bit all over the place at times) were somewhat engaging and made you think. Was pretty lax about cellphones too. Definitely would take a class with him again.

Not a very serious professor, you can pretty much do whatever you want in class, and he wouldn't care. Whether its using your phone or laptop in class, or even leaving class for an hour to get food and come back. He's a tricky person to understand through his lectures, and the course material makes even less sense, but he's a VERY easy grader.

Bennet is hilarious. I love the guy and am taking specific classes just because he teaches them. We always get off topic and he often turns and ask us what we want to talk when we are quiet and next thing you know we'll be debating when someone will fly to the moon to film a movie. Every week a one page paper is due but just watch the movies.

Bennet is an amazing guy. Usual lectures are to be desired and be prepared to go off topic but he is very passionate about film. No exams, You write a weekly one page paper, and a final project. I really hope to take another class with him before I graduate!

Bennet is a phenomenal professor. You to work hard to make him dislike you. And I don't mean butting heads with him in discussions, speaking up will show that you are engaging with the subject. Sure, be prepared to get off topic, but that's what makes his classes fun. You get to talk about interesting topics.

He is funny in a geeky way and he is really cool and down to earth but you gotta go to the viewings and go to class because you'll just be lost, regardless if you go or not. Don't over think the assignments and just use the assigned textbooks and you'll be fine. Just 3 paper thats ur grade and in general it was a pretty chill class.

THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE/WILL EVER HAVE. Absolutely hilarious and crazy but definitely captures your attention. Made our 3 hour class at 6:20-9 pm a class to look forward to. Engage in conversation with him you might just have your mind blown.

Bennet is crazy. But crazy in a good way. He is very intelligent and will know if you didn't do the readings when you write your exams. There were 3 exams, each 2 long essay questions (2-5 pgs each) totaling 4-10 in length. Make sure to use quotes from the reading! We watched some pretty interesting movies, but don't skip the viewing!!

This was an experimental class, the combination of World Cinema & Lit of Global Context. Weird combo, but easy class since he didn't know what his expectations were. All we did was watch movies & attempt to do some poetryreading. 2 group projects & that was it. For future students though, it will be more structured with clear syllabus.

Great guy, extremely funny, but all he does is rant. I never knew or understood what we were doing, I didnt learn a single thing in this class. Plus, this is not an easy A. I would recommend taking it with anyone else, not him.

World Cinema changed the way I thought about and viewed the world. Cannot recommend it enough. Not easy on your brain, and I loved it! Be prepared to take down lots of crazy quotes when he goes off on tangents, you will want to remember them!! Ah, I will miss his class. Already do ;D

He was one of those professors who just loved to rant. I never knew what to take notes on because he just went so of-tangent all the time. He normally and English teacher, but he didn't really seem dedicated to helping us learn American Studies. We learned things that just were so out of the blue. His tests were a joke.

Well, he replaced Chris Lalonde when Chris was hit by a car. He had no prior knowledge of what American Studies was about, but he wanted to assure that everyone passed, by giving extremely easy exams.
