Professor Gollnick is a scholar of great knowledge in the field of religious psychology. I took his course because the work load, two major papers, agreed with my schedule. Professor Gollnick's work both supported and developed my perspectives of spirituality in regards to personal development. I have learned a great deal about myself. Thank you.

I understand other critical comments of him. He is not a great prof, but his strength is that he is challenging students and providing new and non-mainstream theories to consider. I've heard a few RS students say only in retrospect that they feel his classes were great - though not at the time. VERY hard marker! But super-interesting.

Comment:
This guy is ridiculous. He essentially used major theorists like Freud and Maslow to legitimate his own loony-tunes ideas of consciousness, transcendence, dream analysis, etc. He uses experiments with terrible methodology to try to prove things about altered states of consciousness. Skeptics will tear their hair out in frustration.

I agree with the last person who posted. He is not a good prof and seemed rather condescending. He didn't seem intersted in his students and looks like a troll. Avoid if you can. His voice gets really irritating by the end of the term, and he has favourites (ie: suck ups) who get the best marks. If you're looking for an 80, not the class for you

I took the class out of interest sake...the course was quite boring however. The final was very difficult despite being given questions in advance it seemed rushed. I will never take a class with him again. When I asked for help he was very condescending.

Was very interested before taking this class and now I can't stand looking at his face. He has favourites and expected you to agree with what he was saying all the time in order to get a good mark (which in his case was 75%-80%). Would never take another course with him again!

really nice guy. Wants to see students to do well in his class. Dont know how he marked essays in 5 minutes, but he did. Gives the class the questions for the midterm and final before hand. He expects a lot on the answers.

wonderful man, not so interesting prof. it doesn't help that the subject matter is incredibly dry! he is fairly challenging, as he considers 70% a good mark. however, tests are very outlined.

He is a good prof, and queries are responded to appropriately. However, he is monotone at times, and the course material is often boring. The essays for the course are fairly easy but the final examination is rather challenging. Overall, a good prof, but the course itself is uninteresting.
