The worst professor I have ever had. His lectures are almost pointless and he barely stays on topic. It is hard to follow along because of how much he shifts focuses. Terrible with putting grades in. Don't get me wrong he is a very nice man. I just think he is not fit for a college professor.

Good example of someone who's a nice person but terrible teacher. Really vague instructions. Inconsistent, capricious grading. Not organized, half of the class seemed winged. Speaks in streams of consciousness. Won't be teaching for much longer, seems checked out. Avoid if possible.

His guidelines are among the worst and most vague of a professor that I've ever dealt with. One little mistake will throw off the entire assignment grade. Takes forever to email back, and if you're lucky enough to get in touch with him, his hints and feedback are extremely confusing. His only redeeming quality is being flexible with timelines.

Bill is not the easiest professor to deal with - his guidelines are not very clear (he does it on purpose to make you think for yourself) and he is very slow with feedback and grading. However, if you participate in class discussions, and rehearse your presentations (he can tell if they are rehearsed or not) you will do well in his class.

Complete waste of time. Rambles on about Malaysia, spends half of each class talking about irrelevant crap. Totally unclear about grading. Everyone in my class had to redo his prep 2 . Had to interview 5 diff people from diff cultures and write papers on it, a HUGE final paper with presentation, tests online during class time, DB posts and MORE.

Comment:
Boring lectures that are irrelevant to the material on the tests, but he takes attendance. For being the head of the department he is very disorganized. He rambles on about Malaysia for about 75% of the time during class and doesn't teach how to communicate with other cultures. I did not learn much in this class. Avoid this prof if possible.

He puts all of his lectures online, so he does not lecture in class. Class seems pointless because we do nothing, but attendance is mandatory. Additionally, he gives a 300 point group project with no clear rubric of what he wants and grades it harshly. I had an A in the class until the group presentation. Overall, he's a nice guy, but very boring.

Lectures were helpful, but off topic for the most part. There is a quiz every class, so if you don't want to read. Don't take this class. He isn't really good at answering questions and responding to e-mail for clarification, but the amount of extra credit offered negates all of the issues he presents.

I've had Dr. Dailey for COM195, and this class is almost a carbon copy of how he ran that class. Lacks structure, pretty easy, and never dull. HUGE complaint for this class though -- although I received an A-, he lowered my grade significantly after we had left for break, giving us no chance to talk to him about a grade on our last group project.

Attendance not mandatory but you do get points for showing up. I suck at giving speeches but still passed! Sometimes he rambles but you'll get used to it.

I think he closes his eyes, picks a number and gives you that grade. I've turned in papers that I've felt really good about and gotten 80s. Unorganized. Barely directs w/assignments then marks you down when you never even know what the heck you were supposed to do. People he likes get good grades though...coincidence? Doubtful.

Arrogant and pedantic in the classroom. I don't care if he's county commissioner, hes an awful professor. What I learned I taught myself. Grading is entirely subjective and will reflect your general popularity or likability rather than your understanding of the material. This is what happens when there is no grading criteria.

Bill's a great guy. He seems to really care about his students. Lectures can be a little boring at times and attendance is mandatory but he's really passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. He is disorganized, but he'll admit to it. Just remind him of things, he's very considerate when it comes to deadlines. I'd take Bill again for sure

Bill is the man. He's probably my favorite prof! Yes, he can be unorganized, but if you remind him of things, he's totally cool. He's one of the most understanding and approachable professors there is. He offers extra credit and makes getting an A in his class not difficult at all. I recommend him to anyone.

I learned a lot in this class. He is a picky grader when it comes to journal entry s and papers. He is a very nice guy and you can learn a lot from him. GO TO CLASS! he takes attendance but he will understand circumstances. Exams are harder then you think they will be.

For a 100 level class, there was A LOT of work. He's a very easy going guy, however he is extremely unorganized, make sure you keep track of your grades on blackboard. Overall, easy class, attendance is mandatory!
