I'm not very good at math and from the beginning he said he did not teach using formulas and if he saw one on a quiz he would give a zero. Generally, at the beginning of the semester, he taught really well. I had an A-minus at midterm. Then he got approved to retire. There was a page on the final that he never taught to my class. Nice guy

Struggles with organization, hard to follow in class. Easy online homework that can be retaken for 100% up until they close. Boring lectures and hard quizzes. You definitely need to pay attention and study if you want to pass.

Professor Elmer is an absolute sweetheart. I had missed an exam due to poor health and he was very understanding and allowed me to make it up once I was better. I had not taken pre-calc before this course and still passed. He is definitely old school so you need to pay attention and take notes or you'll miss important information.

Professor Elmer was the toughest math professor I have ever had. He teaches the content as it is and struggles to convey the content in simpler terms. He is very anal at grading quizzes and exams and marks you off for not writing definition word for word. He is enthusiastic about the subject but he can also be rude when you ask him a question.

I went to him for help and he told me I just didnt know how to study and to change my ways. He gives a lot of nightly homework but does not check it, however, not doing homework will make you fall behind.

I have never had a worse math professor in my life. He is the sweetest man you'll ever meet, but the worst teacher. I received an A in precalc last semester and with him I received an E. He is the toughest grader you'll ever meet in your life and you can tell he's intelligent but he just can't teach.

He's essentially an English Professor who knows a few equations. Be ready to get talked at for the entirety of class in what seems like another language because I sure didn't understand by the end. If I didn't drop his class I would have gotten an E no matter what I did (i.e. hes not really willing to help, he expects a calc. expert)

The class is hard as it is, and he didn't make it any easier. Went to his office hours for clarification on a specific topic and told me that it was basic and should know it. Did not help at all. Only hope of passing, or completely failing, is the final, which counts tremendously on your grade.

Professor Elmer was one of the toughest professors I've ever had. He often would not give you direct help if asked and was very vague, leaving it up to you to figure out.. Oh, did I mention there's no textbook for help either? Tough grader, and very unclear on what he wants and what he says. Elmer can make 2+2 sound complicated.

I found Mr. Elmer to be a great professor. Mr. Elmer's lectures made my high school concepts clear. I liked his practical examples. He stresses a lot on how facts come, not just the facts. The returned quizes are great sources of information. His lectures may be hard for Calculus beginners. So, go for him if you had taken Calculus in high school.

He tells you everything you need to know. However, sometimes he says things once. He moves quickly without explaining every step. In class I had to strain to follow his notes.

He doesn't know how to communicate info well. Very boring class. He can be mean. I regret taking this class. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking it, he will kill your GPA and make you hate math. The homework doesn't cover class material. He doesn't give enough time to do the tests. Don't take it with him. Please.

Terrible, Terrible professor. I was a dean's list student until I had to take his class. He is unclear about his expectations, assigns homework that he hasn't taught in class and just expects you to be able to figure it out. Gets very angry if you ask questions and is very rude. He seems to not even know what he's talking about most of the time.

Worst professor, I have ever had. I usually enjoy and do well in math but he made it super hard and boring. He is very unclear, his lectures are boring, when you ask him a question on the material he gets frustrated with you, he doesn't give you enough time to take the test, and his tests are very unclear and hard to understand what he wants. AVOID

I have done well in Math all of my life until I made the worst mistake of my life by joining this class. Elmer does not know how to explain a single thing in a way we will understand. I have never not wanted to cry or die in this class so good luck. Please do not take this class if you want to retain sanity. Yes this class will destroy you.

He is by far one of the worst professors I've ever had. He isn't able to effectively communicate his idea's and notes in a verbal or in a written fashion and it makes this class so much more difficult than it ever had to be. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

By FAR the worst professor I have ever had. And the sad thing he's a really nice guy. But, his notes are extremely confusing, and he's just incredibly hard to follow. He makes everything 10x more complicated than it has to be. You'll pretty much have to teach yourself the class. Definitely avoid if possible.

Definitely under rated. Quizes about every other week, 2 tests and the final. Gives a detailed list of what's on the quizzestests. If you follow along in class, do the homework,go to group session and look over topic lists you will do good. He skips middle steps sometimes but if you have the background calc skills, it'll be fine.
