Okay.. hes very old. VERY old. Sweet guy but lectures are very oldschool and boring. I dont suggest taking his class if youre not majoring in env science/studies. Again, youll probably be very bored.

I was not a fan of this class at all. Whitney is a really boring professor. On lecture days, he's just show slides all class long, while everyone was struggling to stay awake. He's a horrible driver. You basically put your life in your hands every time you go on a field trip. I'd avoid him if at all possible.

One of the least approachable people i have ever encountered. His teaching is bizarre and unrelated to what the class is supposed to be about. I strongly reccommend reconsidering taking one of his classes. Worst teacher I've had at this school

He's really really smart, he literally wrote the book on what we were learning, but sometimes he sucks at teaching. If you want to learn, go on field trips and follow him arround. He's a little bit ****s and a little but god-y, but you don't really notice it unless you're looking for it. Be careful waht class you take with him, he knows trees.

his credentials speak for themselves. His education is outstanding and he has taught at various top tier schools, and has texts in his name that are used accross the country.

He co-taught the class, and most the teaching was left to the other profs. The lectures he did give were informative but long winded. He was fun on labs, but would ask questions there is no way you could know how to answer. He's a little ****s and a little of a god nut. Good to co-teach, bad if he's the only prof.

He clearly knows a lot about trees and history, but that doesn't really help in a Stats class. he didn't know what he was talking about half the time, was confusing, and gave us work we couldn't do. Labs took forever, but were only worth 10pts. Tests were hard, and the take-home final took about 16 hours, and i still failed it.

He knows his stuff to the point that you can't believe he has spent so much of his life reading and researching. He can get a bit standoffish and relentless when asking you questions, and is intimidating in that respect.

Terrible teacher - plays favorites and grades very unfairly. You will find that you will get grades that you do not deserve for the amount of work that you do.

How can you not like this guy? Extremely nice, very easy, and he respects his students. Gets long winded at times, but he's still a great prof.
