I personally had no problem with Makokian. He is not going to wipe your nose for you because you're not in high school anymore. What he will do is give you a set of problems, then test you on those exact problems. All that matters are your test grades. Show up and try, and you'll get an A. If you're getting a B, just try harder.

Absolutely horrible at teaching, shows what tenure does. If you study the textbook very closely, you will pass. Allows notes on the three tests so long as they're in your calculator. Multiple choice scantron tests, you can narrow your way down. Pros: Cheap book, easy tests, attendance not mandatory. Cons: Class. Is. Hell.

Absolutely awful. Rambles on about nothing and makes statistics 10x more difficult than it should be. You have a couple tests and the only classes you really need to go to are his reviews because everything else is pointless. Should have dropped this class when I had the chance. Be prepared to teach yourself.

He's prone to ranting about, as other commenters stated, the state of public education in the U.S. and how notation is different among textbooks. The class goes by very slowly, and he has a bad memory and often repeats himself. Three tests and a final determine our grade; the first test had 12 questions. High-level math students, you'll be bored.

This guy is a joke. I hate going to this class. He is the worst teacher I have ever had. He wates time doing nothing and arguing with the author of the book saying that he is wrong. I wish I never kept this class. We are still on chapt 1 and its october. He should be fired, there is no way he should still have a job here.

Excuse me if I like to learn something new at College and have help in a subject i struggle in. This professor is horrible. He never speaks loud enough for us to hear...then when he asks a question and we don't answer it the United States bored of education's fault. I personally suck at math so to have a teacher that says " Well you should have learned it in Highschool" every time you ask a question that pertains to the material he is teaching it is frustrating. He rambles about nothing and we spent a week talking about a book store conspiracy, about not having enough book for the class.

He tells students they shouldn't be in college. Gets his answers from the back of the book, and treats students like children. The class is easy, but he makes it impossible. Tenure has horrible drawbacks. Blames students, the book, and even insignificant hallway noises for his inadequacies. Five questions on last test, no partial credit. Avoid!

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!! RUN AWAY! he is a terrible teacher and just mumbels about nothing. he reads straight from the book and doesnt answer questions. dont bother emailing him because i dont think he knows what email is. with out a doubt one of the worst teachers i have ever had. attendance doesnt count and we had 2 tests and a final. he was horrible.

I think he must be in his late 80's by the way he acts. He forgets what he is saying half the time. Bridgewater students should never take him for anything. The department chair won't do anything to help. Very disappointed in this school.

I don't understand why he is still employed at this school. every class consists of "how many of you are computer science majors?" and "if not, why are you taking this course?" he does ramble, all the time, and always forgets what he is talking about. he may have been a good teacher at one point, but not anymore. He failed me in my last semester of college, which made me stay an extra semester. I've been forced to pay $5000 for insurance and classes for another semester, then he failed me again and I dropped out of college. This man ruined my life. There is no way for me to press charges or complain or do anything because he is tenured.Most evil person ever

Do not take a class with this prof if you can help it. He is very old and is easily confused by his own subject matter. Does not know about any form of communication newer than the telegraph, so dont expect emails to be answered. If you do badly on a test you are probably screwed since he only does 2-3 a semester. Avoid him if possible.

This guy is awful, no other way to put it. Monotone all day, and really doesnt have a clue what he is doing. I honestly do not know how this guy is teaching at a college level. It's really embarrassing. I would never wish this guy on my worst of enemies. Please I'm begging you, stay away from his class!
