Was extremely nervous to take my courses during this pandemic. But he made it so easy for the entire class. Honestly one of the best Professors if not the best. Extremely organized, readings are easy to understand and quizzes/ are extremely easy if you do the readings. No papers just 5 quizzes, 3 exams, and 5 discussion boards.

I found Prof. Schock's style of teaching to be very boring, not very engaging. 90% of your grade is based on 3 exams. 10 % attendance, participation, and a few classroom group exercises. Their is no extra credit, no papers, no homework except read the assigned chapters. He does offer study guides so if you read and take notes you will pass easy.

He's the man. The material is very interesting and he does a good job at explaining things clearly. You should show up and take notes, because the tests are all based on his lectures. He gives a study guide before the exam and that's all you need to study. For me, it was such an easy A and I would absolutely take him again.

his classes are somewhat boring. he's big on definitions and handing out notes. if you study the review sheet for the test you'll pass. takes attendance randomly.

What a patient & understanding professor! He was AWESOME with students he saw struggling, and would answer the same questions over & over & over until the concepts were "gotten". Overall... fair grading, VERY involved in making sure his students understand the material, not too tough a teacher & extremely approachable & helpful!

Professor Schock knows exactly how hard this material can be to understand, and takes his time to re-explain things if needed. No papers, 3 tests, reading can be much, but you don't necessarily need it if you take notes and pay attention. I would suggest him to ANYONE taking Social Research. I hope I can take him for the 2nd part

He is an amazing professor! He really takes the time to go over the material in class, and for those who've said he "makes you do the teaching" - it's completely false! He will have group presentations each week, but he always follow-up with amazing class discussion, which is rare in graduate courses these days. I would definitely recommend him!

Soc. Movements- don't bother taking this class cause your grade depends on a final and midterm grade. And he's all over 'b.s.' writing. Class is boring, cool documentaries. 10 page paper. doesn't give midterms back until the end of the semester. avoid class

He knows his social research stuff very well and does a very good job teaching it. His exams are fair. He gives out a very helpful study guide before each exam. If you don’t get a good grade in his class its because your lazy. He’s especially helpful if you meet with him in person.

His class can be boring some times, but he gives out outlines to his exams, which are very useful for the exam. This class was very easy to me and he is very good and understanding prof. I got an A in his class, and never read from the book, just took notes in class.
