He really makes you work for it. His exams for this class were pretty lengthy and filled with a lot of vocab (so be prepared for that!) He gives you lecture notes but they aren't the best format to fill out. He tries to put math in there but it's confusing to follow so it's almost easier to guess. If you don't participate in discussion you'll fail.

This class' objective is to weed out of weak. The exam's class average was failing, and student only get half of the clicker questions right which are worth 50 points out of 550. He's never heard of a curve. The exams are written with so much jargon it's hard to pass them even if you wrote everything down in lecture and studied for days.

Karowe is passionate about what he does and it is reflected in lecture. He is a good professor, but the class isn't easy. The textbook is required for online homework and a few exam q's. Exams can be difficult. Karowe likes to put tiny details on exams so it is essential to know all of the information. Flashcards are a great way to study.

Karowe is extremely knowledgeable about his field. The tests cover a lot of lecture material, and you MUST know little details from your lecture notes in order to do well on the exams. I recommend generating flashcards out of your lecture notes via Quizlet to prepare for exams. Also, expect lots of time to be dedicated to the lab as well as hw.

While he is very clear and thorough in his lectures, the amount of detail he expects you to know, in my opinion, is ridiculous on the exams. His exams are very difficult and they amount for about 40% of your overall grade-and there are only 3. I have learned a lot from this class, but due to his exams, my grade won't reflect it.

I think he may have a bad rep, but he's a very great professor. He gives points for clicker questions and online homework, which is helpful. 90% of his lecture notes are on the exams, which are very reasonable. As long as you put in the effort, you'll pass with flying colors! The lab is relatively simple, too.

Show up to EVERY class and write down EVERYthing. Then rewrite your notes and review ea. day. His exams are CRAZY! They will have you 2nd guessing yourself (and then 3rd and 4th) but he is an EXCELLENT prof., extremely intelligent, caring, and a great guy overall. His class is actually interesting and you'll learn a lot!

Challenging in every sense of the word! If your looking for a challenge academically, take Dr. Karowe. Let me be clear, the exams are hard. However, he is very helpful and wants students to do well. The TA's are extremely helpful as well if you go to office hours. Go to study groups. Study every single day. You may feel like crying..just hold on.

A great teacher and by far a very interesting class if you enjoy your major. I learned a great deal and looked forward to the clas. Te downside was that the exam grades you recieved did not reflect accurately the knowledge you received from the class. Multiple Multiple choice has no partial credit leaving you with a correct/ incorrect situation

The exams in this class are RIDICULOUS! You can study everyday and still do poorly because they are multiple-multiple choice. He's intelligent and kind, but the exams are unreasonable. I felt that I knew the material well and my exam grade did not reflect it, so neither did my overall. Thumbs down.

Extremely intelligent and nice. Explains things very very well and in a lot of detail. Can answer almost any question about anything, it's insane how smart he is. The exams were kind of a bummer though because you could know the majority of the material but still do awful on an exam bc they're very tricky (multiple-multiple choice). So PAY ATTENTIO

Good professor. Take good notes and you will be able to keep up. The exams are tough but he ends up curving a little bit in the end if need be. Overall he was a good professor and was able to make this class interesting and fun.

His lectures are pretty cool. However, his exams are not cool. They are all multiple-multiple choice and it makes them sorta tricky. Each question is like answering 3 questions. Try to do really well on the first exam because it is the easiest. The rest are fairly hard and loaded with lots of details.

This may have been the class that sways me to change my major... I despised the multiple-multiple choice exams. It's an exam of trick questions! Though I did learn a lot in this class, my grade does not reflect that at all because the exams are so difficult. He's a great lecturer, the tricky exams are my only complaint.
