this class was super hard for a 101 class. lectures were just her rambling on about pointless things, and her test were extremely hard. you have to read the 20+ page chapters and so many article. theres no lecture notes or study guide. would not recommend if trying to take a east class.

Took as a gec. Tests only over book going to class was pointless vuz she never taught. Just rambles the whole class about random topics and opinions. Hated it. But tests weren't too bad if u read the book.

I had the absolute worst experience with this class. We had to read 2-3 20+ page articles for each class and she would pick the smallest details for her tests (the whole class talked about forming a mutual complaint). I have taken several 400+ level soc classes and got straight As and she got me the only B my whole year. She also tended to yell.

This is the BEST professor that I have had so far! The textbook she uses is A-Mazing. Reading is a must though but, if you miss a few classes it won't hurt your grade. Three tests, and six in class writing activities. Take this professor! You will not regret it.

Lectures became less and less useful throughout the quarter, and she grades pretty tough, but the tests are all fair, and it's ok to keep up with as long as you do the work. She's a good teacher, but not an easy one.

Great Professor! Cares about her students! 488 was hard, and you really have to read to do well. A lot of the tests were terms though, and the book is AMAZING and EASY to read! Class discussions very real-world orientated. Great professor, you'll learn something!

Awesome class! She is a great prof! Just make sure you do the readings that are assigned, most of classes are discussions about stuff totally off topic!

When I first walked into class I thought, great an awful mandatory Soc theory class with a boring old lady. But I was very wrong. She is really into the issues and has an open discussion of a class. Fire and brimstone I'd say, talking about the crap of the world we endure and create. Important issues discussed in a engaging fun way. Not for lamers

Crossman babbled on and on during her class. As a result it was very hard to pay attention in class. The majority of the discussions in class were way off topic and I honestly did not learn anything from this class. The textbook was very readable.

Very nice woman, and helpful if you need her. Very liberal, and very opinionated. Sometimes this causes her to lose focus on the topic, making you wonder whether your ready for test. Tests are multiple choice, matching, but the class has a lot of reading. If you go to class and she doesn't get of subject you do not have to read.

Interesting and the work is not overwhelming. She has in-class group essays throughout the quarter instead of a paper. Exams are somewhat difficult and are based heavily on the reading. Overall she is a good professor and keeps things interesting.

Not bad. Expects little, especially from her honors classes. Only a few in class papers, never took off points for content. Funny at times.

Great prof. If you read the material assigned then you will be fine for mid terms and final. Most classes are discussion based. One of my favorites!!

A Crossman course is truly a treat. Here's the breakdown, she spends the whole class talking about random issues in the world that, for the most part, have nothing to do with what you need to know to pass. Study the books INSIDE AND OUT. Know every detail because that's what the midterms/final are on. She's political so be prepared to come with it!

Very interested in teaching. Very fair with her grading and takes responsibility for teaching assigned material. If material isn't covered in class she doesn't expect you to learn it by yourself.

Her teaching style consists of just clarifying what's in the book rather than actually teach the material. Meaning if you don't keep up with the reading, you have almost no chance of passing. Just read the books and passing the tests will be (almost) a piece of cake.

Very opinionated, and can be overwhelming at times. However, not that bad of a prof. You get to spend a lot of class time just discussing/sharing stories. Grades papers mostly for grammatical mistakes, I never saw her take off points for content. Do the readings, pay attention in class, and you should be okay. Also lets you argue answers on tests.

One of my favorite profs yet! class is discussion based, so interesting. make sure to read book carefully, almost all of the test questions come from text. if you pay attention and do the reading, you will do well.
