Was getting 20s on homework assignments and when I scheduled time to ask how I could improve he laughed in my face and said "I don't know maybe get better at philosophy?" Homework consisted of opinion questions which were then marked wrong.

Truly the sterotypical philsophy teacher that loves feeling smarter than a group of undergrads, may seem nice at first but after weeks of him I cant stand him anymore

He is a deeply un-empathetic teacher. Dont expect any sort of wiggleroom or understanding in extrenuating circumstances.

I took two classes, a 100 and a 200 level. He is a tough grader but his lectures are very well done and he gives A LOT of info in one lecture. I will say though the 200 lvl class was way harder and demanding than it needed to be. He is a really good teacher and is funny but prides himself too much on being a tough teacher.

Now this guy was the funniest professor Ive ever met but I had to grind to get a B. He makes a lot of people drop his class because he wants his students to earn their grade. Attendance is huge, but if youre willing to show up, he will reward you and you shouldnt have to worry about your grade. Always made lectures intriguing!

Too demanding, especially for a 200 level class. He is proud of being a tough teacher and expects that all students are philosophy majors.

Guy gives out half points of extra credit like they mean something. He enjoys being a control freak over his students and seeing them struggle in his class, due to his beliefs that philosophy majors are superior. If you enjoy a guy who thinks hes the smartest in the roomand will let you know about it this is the class for you

Prides himself on making things difficult for students, willing to help but is a micromanaging control freak that does not allow student absences for any reason besides a medical emergency. Any absence removes students from the grade curve which gives you a C at best. Also makes jokes about subjects that are not comfortable to students. Worst ever.

Listen, hes tough no lie. But he will give you the grade you work for. If you are fundamentally struggling to understand the concept he will genuinely try to help you if you want to learn, but he doesnt sugar coat it. I would take the classes again, but it would be a rough ride.

He is a very demanding teacher and this is not an easy class, but despite what many say, he is a great teacher. If you take his class you will leave it a better student. You will get the grade you earn, and it is FAR from impossible to get a good grade, those who say it is, just don't want to take responsibility for their own lack of effort.

Modern Philosophy was incredibly difficult but I learned a lot. I had to keep up on my work and be a wayyy better student than I usually am to get the grade that I got. He isn't for everyone, so if you aren't interested in philosophy or just want an easy A, stay away.

This is the hardest class that I have taken. It is impossible to get through. The lectures are long and pointless, he expects you to be a philosophy major, and does not offer help or suggestions.

Quizzes every class period, readings of 30-100 pages or more per class, and walked out on us since we didn't answer his questions to satisfaction. He is a super tough grader and makes his essays out of 20 points.

As someone who is decently skilled at Philosophy, I think my opinion has some weight to it. This was definitely not my first go-around with this kind of material, but he made it incredibly difficult to learn. There was far too much focus on rote memorization and not on the broader implications, which is what Philosophy is about. Do not take him!

Quiz at the beginning of class. Must do the reading and review notes to ready for quizzes. His expectation over students is quite high. However, fair grader. This course was kinda tough since he is strict but I learned real things.

Bonzon is a good person and very funny in class, but the actual coursework is near impossible if you are not a natural born philosopher. Would not recommend the class for students who are not philosophy majors!
