Ingrid is an amazing professor. She treats you like an adult, and asked our class the projects we wanted to work on and how we want to be graded at the beginning of the course. Participation is mandatory. You do have to write a lot for her, but she gives you great feedback and my writing has dramatically improved since taking her classes. 10/10

This class was a blast! Got to travel with colleagues/friends and professors in the department, check out and learn about cool geographic and geologic features out west for a research project. This class has lots of work involved, but it was all more than worth it in the end.

Awesome professor. Willing to help you if you need it. Quiz online every week but drops 2 and open book. Do the homework. Easy if you stay ahead and come to class. Study for the exams a lot though. NEED the book for labs, but its cheap.

Best class I have taken, in part because I didn't think I'd like the subject matter much. Surprising the labs were fun. Don't get me wrong, they can be difficult if you do not read, and the Professor was very helpful.

Very clear teacher, makes the material interesting at times with the usage of visuals and animations with a video or two thrown in there to spice things up (with it have being an 8am class, it was needed). Be prepared to spend time outdoors, no matter the temperature (I stood in a stream in 35 degree weather at one point). Overall, enjoyable.

She made this class way too hard. I took it online. Her labs were very long and time consuming. One lab we had to type 3 200 word paragraphs. Her quizzes do not match up with her power points. She gave us a study guide for an exam for which I studied for 5 hours when I took exam what I had studied was not on the test.

I enjoyed this class even though I don't particularly like science. I took this online and my advice would be to stay on top of the assignments and then you will do well. If you have a question, she's very willing to help, so don't hesitate to ask.

This is the best teacher i have had at ETSU i changed my major to Geography because she made it so interesting. Love her classes and im currently in my 3rd class with her. She may not be easy but i promise you will walk out of class with a head full of knowledge.

Mrs. Luffman is a very nice and enthusiastic teacher. You can tell from the first day of class that she's very into what she is teaching and knows what she's doing. She thoroughly goes through the material and makes sure that students understand it. She has very good communication skills. She's one of the best you can ask for!

I liked this professor. She is smart and knows her stuff. She was easily accessible on the discussion board or through email and was usually prompt in responding. The class was tons of work but I learned alot and I took it online. I would recommend for anyone who likes onine classes.

Luffman is terrible. Take this class only if you have to. She will try to embarrass you if you have a question. She will grade you according to whether or not your one of her favorites. Dont walk, run away from this woman.

An excellent physical geographer! Prof Luffman is very fair and straight forward. I took this as an internet class and it wasnt that hard. I would definately take another class with her again. She is also very helpful and accessable when you need to ask a question.

This was an online course, and she really loads the work on. Lots of chapter discussion questions, quizzes, and 3 exams which were somewhat difficult. Also in-depth discussion board questions. I have to say though, I did learn a lot in this class. Ingrid is extremely helpful and lets you know when she's not available. She returns emails promptly.

Great teacher. Knows her stuff really well and explains good too. I didnt like geography at all but she makes it really good. Her tests are multiple choice with a couple of short answer. She gives out a study guide and if you show up to class this class is a breeze. Take notes on powerpoints and you will do good.

I had her for an online class. There is a lot of homework involved. Quizes are open book fairly easy. Tests are timed and open book but I found the tests hard. Even though there are some times I don't like about this class Im probably going to take her again for weather and climate. She is always there by the phone when you need help!

I suspect the people that react negatively are the ones that are going to end up scrubbing pots or picking up trash for a living anyway. Go to class and pay attention and you'll get an A. If you're halfway intelligent and don't go to class you can still reason out the tests and get a C.

Great professor, really knows her stuff! If you sit in the front of the class and pay attention, there should be no reason you can't achieve an A in this class.This is one of the few professors at ETSU that really cares about the well being of her students and really genuinely cares that you learn the material.Always willing to help you understand!
