This is a tough class but Overman makes it interesting. The tests are very specific and spelling counts but they are not impossible. Just study and you will be fine. He tries to relate back to students and keep us engaged in class. Overman is very descriptive and knows what he is talking about.

one of the worst teachers I've had while at uncw. He mumbles into the white board and writes his notes on that so if you can't read his scribbles, you're screwed. uses the textbook but doesn't tell you the pages to read. He doesn't clarify information once you ask questions and gives pop tests but doesn't go over any of the info that's on them. no.

It's difficult to get an A if you don't do well on the two tests. He's such a great man though and very enjoyable lectures. You HAVE to go to class to have any idea on the exams. He asks some very odd questions but is fair if you think the question was unfair. Rarely used the book, except the first chapter. May take again, I loved him, tough though

Dr. Overman is one of my favorite professors! His lectures are interesting and he cares about his students. He doesn't use powerpoints, so pay attention to what he draws on the board during class. He warns about pop-tests in advance and drops the lowest one. Take good notes, study and you'll be fine. I'd definitely take his class again.

Loved this class! Attendance is "mandatory" but most classes he forgets to take attendance. Tests are straight from his lectures, so go to classtake notes if you want to get a good grade. I never read the text and still ended with an A no problem. Very nice and eager to help, I would definitely recommend taking him if you get the chance!

I love BioPsych which is why I'm a Neuroscience minor, but this class was the worst one I've taken in the minor thus far. I agree that he is very knowledgeable, but his lectures could use a lot of organization. I would definitely recommend taking this course with someone else if you want a little organization in a course.

Dr. Overman is an incredibly funny and interesting professor. He gives a great lecture when he isn't too scatterbrained. He's incredibly kind and helpful. His tests are straight from his lectures. Quizzes you may have to skim the text book, but they are also predominantly lecture based. Definitely would take more psychology classes with him.

Dr. Overman is one of the best professors at UNCW in my opinion! His lectures are interesting and he is a really brilliant man! Be prepared to take notes and to review the notes because his quizzes count towards your final grade! I learned so much from Dr. Overman and I would HIGHLY recommend if you have a chance to get into his class then DO IT!

Dr. Overman is a brilliant professor. He is extremely helpful and is always WILLING to help. He puts his students first and he really cares about them. Go in and talk to him, build a relationship with him. He is an excellent resource. I learned so much from him and that's saying something since I'm not a science person.

He's knowledgeable about what he teaches and so helpful! Learned a lot in his class and found his sense of humor endearing. His tests require a good amount of studying, but he provides study guides which were a huge help. Great professor.

Dr. Overman is such a good teacher! His tests come mostly from the notes so make you you take good notes and study them. I think the trickiest part o the class is when we learn about agonists and antagonists so study those very well! I completely 100% recommend Dr. Overman

He is amazing!Super funny and has some awesome stories.Makes the class interesting.Somewhat clumsy and unorganized which makes him even funnier and cuter.Really nice man and will work with u if u get sick and can't go to class.Exams are straight from the notes and the book. I took his Honors section last year and it's probably the main reason I'm a psych minor now. He's super-knowledgeable and tells great stories to help you remember stuff. GO TO CLASS because tests are mostly from lectures. He's a great guy, great professor. Plus he has that adorable Virgina accent :)

I took his honors section. He is an awesome professor and so funny! Honestly, 97% of the test came from his lectures. I suggest studying a little bit after each lecture so you don't have to cram for tests. (also makes it easier to remember material for final)

HUGE emphasis on lectures for tests. Go to class and you will be fine. A little scatter-brained. His notes are all over the place, but associates things with stories to help you remember them. Makes class interesting and really knows his stuff.

I'm really enjoying this class, which surprised me. He generally tells you when he's going to give you a "pop" test, but I wouldn't recommend skipping considering his lectures are packed with info. Very nice, funny, and if there's a question, he will stick to a subject until it's understood. Be respectful and don't let him see your cell phone.
