Comment:
Kathleen is a really good lecturer. She gives plenty of examples to help make sense of theory - which can be confusing. Her assignments were clear and to the point - you understood what she wanted. As long as you paid attention, took good notes, and ask questions - there is no reason to not get an A.

Lundeen likes to hear students ideas/thoughts, although she does 'cold call' if no one speaks up. Three papers on the lit theories you learn, one final, and a TON of reading from the text book. She's a sweet lady that wants you to do well and come to her office hours. Very responsive to canvas messages. Tho, taking her class at 8am made me sleepy.

She is a pretty good prof. Reading and lectures every day that were usually interesting, occasionally boring. Graded on three essays, a final, and two movies you must attend outside of class. Not crazy difficult, and decent class overall.

Doesn't seem very passionate about the subject. They lead the class very poorly in discussions and mostly ask very limited questions expecting very specific answers. Like their class discussions, Kathleen's in class essays are also very specific and one minded. If you don't intend on learning something then I would highly recommend her class

Comment:
Not the biggest fan of Kathleen, she is a great and friendly person outside of the role of professor, but as a professor she tends to ramble. Class discussions were mainly people throwing out random ideas that had little ties to the text, Kathleen would not comment upon them, and then we would move to the next student's thoughts. Made class boring

Course outline is misleading, this is a class where you read various sections of the Bible and discuss them at length in class. For the Final you have to study basically everything that has been discussed in class. She's also always smiling which is kind of scary

Grammar, attendance, and standard structure will assure you an A. What is missing are depth and thorough understanding of the material.

Lundeen is passionate and funny, but her discussions are all over the place. She has two midterms and a final and she says "they cover what we've been doing in class." So confusing! But she is helpful and I, being someone who has never read the bible, learned a lot. She does not push religion on you! The class is all about discussing the literature

She can't say something that can well be said in 10 words in less than 50: time management is terrible. Overly motherly in class discussion. Expects perfect grammar on her tests; only gives an hour for them. Class is taught like typical bible study: course descrip. is misleading: you don't learn about how the bible influenced western culture.

Her Blake seminar was one of the best English classes I have taken at WWU. Prof. Lundeen is great at sustaining discussions. She is incredibly nice and is so supportive of student opinions. She is also very good at conveying dense, difficult material in a clear manner (needed for Blake!). Really great teacher.

Kathleen knows her stuff! I learned so much and found a new appreciation for the Romantics. She is helpful when you need it. She does like to know what you think of something. She's a fair grader and gives helpful feedback.

I really wanted to love this class, because I love theory. But the grading was really disappointing- even with constant office visits, I wasn't able to get an A. She is really passionate about her classes though, which is great.

Lundeen is likable, but the class was terrible: spoon-fed, lecture based. It was a mix between a typical bible study and highschool. There are better classes, don't take this one. Also it has a TA, yuck. The tests are bad, the class is bad. Avoid this.

She's encouraging, supportive, and passionate. Made Critical Theory bearable and William Blake, well, not quite comprehensible but that's Blake, not Lundeen. Visit her office hours- she's helpful and happy to look at drafts and give feedback. I recommend her highly, even if Blake is killing me. You'll work in her classes, but it's worth it. 313&423

Studied some books of the Bible for writers' perspectives and techniques. (Found the prof unbiased and respectful of different beliefs.) Lots of reading at times; enhanced my appreciation for/ understanding of the Bible. 2 essay midterms & 1 short-response final. 1 essay. Hard taking notes with class discussion. Very nice lady. Her final killed me.

I thought she was kind of ridiculous the first class, with her impeccably articulated speech, but she's great. The class is well structured, mostly discussion based, with the occaisonal group or writing excercise. She knows brit romanticism and french realism quite well, and she loves what she teaches. Not the easist grader, but fair and helpful.
