He is a picky grader, making sure you are able to prove your understanding on key concepts. He is very knowledgeableBit hard to hear in class .If you put in effort, you get back what you put in. Tests are fairly hard, make sure you work fast. On a personal level, he is helpful to those who ask but I wouldn't want to antagonize him. Lotsof material

Lyle Harris was my far the worst professor I've ever had at Western. Not only was he unhelpful and not terribly interesting, he also was beyond rude to students. He berated and belittled students during class and during his office hours. Try to avoid his classes if you can.

By far my least favorite Journalism class. I'd rather take the Western Front four times before taking law again. Lyle is an awful teacher and rude person in general. He grades you down major points just for misplaced commas. He is so boring and uninteresting and you feel bad for him.

Professor Harris is enthusiastic about Media Law and made it a point to learn everyone's name. However, he is an inconsistent grader and is rarely available for constructive help. He used the prior professor's exams and did not have a proper outline for calculating grades. I was disappointed. His only way of helping is by saying, "More details."

Harris is an unbeleivable professor! I had him for History of Mass Media and if you are at all interested in journalism I would recommend him. Everything he says is interesting, and it's not super hard either!

i think Harris was an awesome teacher for law... not very many profs. at Western can say they have been involved in field outside of just teaching it... Harris can and it shows... but the class is intense, dont take it if you plan on skipping.
