Liston works really hard to be available to students who need help. There are SI sections to help with exams. You can tell that Liston has been teaching this class for a while because the course is very organized and fast paced. He's got a cool accent and says "next day" instead of tomorrow. Very wholesome dude.

Professor Liston was a great professor. He was energetic, funny, and clearly did his best to help the people who didn't understand the content. Understand that this is a MATH course, and you will be doing PROOFS, and logical EQUATIONS. It is not your standard philosophy course; there is only 1 right answer for these questions.

Logic 211 is a rly difficult class but if you want to avoid math for your quants requirement, this is the class to take. It's hard but buy the book (its cheap, the hw comes straight from the text), go to lecture, discussions, and take advantage of tutoring and SI! It helps tons. Also he's hot and nice so theres that.

The material covered in this course is difficult and there is no way to really get around that. But Professor Liston is easily one of the best lecturers I have ever had. Each lecture is a comprehensive explanation of the material. His lecture notes are invaluable. I did not purchase the book but just uses the course text on reserve and his notes.

Logic 211 is one of the most difficult classes I've ever encountered. The professor is a really nice guy but he is not a great explainer. the class average on exams was in the mid 60's, and this is in a 200 level, 3 credit course. Avoid unless you specifically know you enjoy this kind of material.

Michael made the logic courses real. He has a knack for explanations that other professors in the field lack completely. He is easily accessible, sociable, honest. The advanced and beginning logic courses are difficult. I took these with two other profs earlier and dropped them. With Liston as a professor, I loved the elegant solutions and proofs.

Difficult subject, but he is an excellent teacher. His handwritten book of notes is indispensable and you can learn the subject from it, but you will need the text to do the weekly homework- and doing the homework and attending class and discussions is the only way to learn and pass the exams.

So hard. Very nice professor but the class was seriously useless unless your going as a philosophy major. I really wish I knew more about what was covered before I took it just to fill a requirement. I've never failed a class before but this might be my first.

Excellent professor! Makes everything clear and is willing to plenty of time outside of class helping you understand the material. He has great sense of humor and makes a potentially difficult class workable for students, regardless of whether or not they are philos majors. He is very kind and truly wants his students to learn.

Ahh... basic logic with Liston. How can anyone not find the blahddy-blah and bluedy-blue speech endearing? I found him to be entertaining and the class fairly easy -- I mean, it's logic. All of the answers and logical. Recommended over Kaplan, yes
