He is boring to listen to. He just goes on and when you ask for clarification he just repeats what he already said.

Professor Tumulty is an absolutely adorable and admirable old man. He makes adorable old-guy jokes and does his best to keep things interesting. However, I struggled in his Introductory Philosophy course. This could be due to my lack of background in the subject, but I did not have as much success as I would have liked.

PTums is the most adorable little old man I have ever met. He is brilliant and if you pay attention in class and really work through the various philosophies, he can change your life. The exams are hard; you have to know the philosopher like the back of your hand in order to do well. This isn't a bad thing, isn't college supposed to be challenging?

He's adorable and looks like a little old man from a Disney movie. He made me rethink my life with Philosophy (which i hated) and is a very funny guy. Hes super helpful and really understanding when it comes to missing class.

This teacher is awesome. Anyone who says otherwise most likely holds a grudge because they did not receive the grade they wanted. Get over it.

P-Tums! I'm sorry but how can you not like the man?? Is he monotone? yes. Is he quirky? yes. But is he hard? no! I don't suggest taking him at 8:30, but if you can get past his awkwardness he actually is a funny guy. His quizzes arent hard, he just has a style you need to learn (like most professors do). P-Tums..what could be greater?

I took his honors intro. course. He definitely expects you to understand the readings, which can be hard, but very rewarding. Asks tough questions and really makes you think through your answers. Genuinely nice fellow.

Tumulty is amazing. He is really hard and he challenges your ideas constantly. That shouldn't be a negative in a philosphy class. He is always willing to sit and discuss ideas and is extremely caring.

Great guy. If he ranks on you, it's probably because he likes you, and I'm not making that up. He's definitely opened my sight further, and the reading is intensely interesting. Just be wary of working yourself into a corner!

He took over for my teacher who left after half of the semester. He was very fair in that unusual situation. And I learned about ten times as much as I did in the first half of the term. He was interesting, encouraged class discussions, I definitely recommend taking a class with him.

okay...he is THE MAN. he made me loveeeee philosophy right away, and if you keep up with what he is saying and can go in the same direction he is, you'll do fine. he's an amazing man, and the only reason people say he doesn't know what he is talking about is because they can't keep up with him, thus they decide he is stupid. great class, i recommend it for english majors as well, if youre interested...

Tumulty is both my advisor (I'm undecided) and philosophy teacher. He's a great guy and a great prof. Also, HE WANTS YOU TO BE ANYTHING BUT A SHEEP! He is constantly saying that he's not interested in turning out a bunch of little Platos or Wittgensteins; Kierkegaards or even Tumultys 4 that matter.

Peter's Ethics course was most edifying ; I refer to him and a few other profs today in my own classroom. The breadth and depth of Peter's knowlege of philosophy is stellar. Perhaps most memorable is his quiet demenaor. Virtus in medio stat !
