Took her class in spring of 2019. Great professor. Really knows her stuff. Lectures were interesting and really help your communication skills and critical thinking if you genuinely apply yourself. I really enjoyed the journal excercise required throughout the semsester. Grateful for having her as my professor! Learned and took in alot.

Most of the grade is based on speeches. She makes it really easy as long as you follow the steps and do things on time. She goes above and beyond to help everyone with their outlines and gives great feedback afterwards. She may seem intimidating at first, but she's really nice! Just be respectful, do the work, take her advice, and you'll be golden.

I too feel she is a bad teacher. She gets off topic often. When I was in her class she talked about how a bird woke her up that day,her gay friends, how she was "high" on cough syrup. She's outwardly rude. it seems like she's trying to protect herself by being rude. yet if you talk to her she gets waay too personal and caring. It was uncomfortable.

I loved this woman. She helped me out so much during this class. I am a horrible public speaker and she guided me along the way. I spent an hour with her in between classes practicing my speeches. She might be a little rough around the edges, but once you get to know her she is awesome.

Comment:
This Professor needs to learn how COMMUNICATE to others with kindness, empathy and not talking down to students and embarrassing them in front of the whole class, as well as herself, makes negative comments about students behind their backs to the class also. I would beware of this Professor if you have anxiety about public speaking. Unorganized

Comment:
This professor is condescending, derogatory and rude and does all of this in front of the whole class. You do not feel at ease right from the onset, which if you have anxiety about public speaking, only makes it worse. She does talk about other students in her classes behind their back. Grades are not returned in a timely manner, very unorganized.

There is not enough characters to explain how horrible of a teacher she is. Don't bother asking questions she'll make you feel stupid. She lost papers that were handed in months ago. She gossips about colleagues&the school. Nancy, is always about NANCY. Don't take her class if you can avoid it. She's the absolute worst professor I've ever had.

She doesn't practice good communication I was taken aback when she started the first class by making threats regarding phones and attendance. She DOES gossip,in fact most of class revolves around gossip and using people she knows as examples. (Inconsiderate) When I ask questions she is rude in response. I would recommend any other .COMS teacher.

Professor Willets can come off as "rude" or "picks favorites", but read that chapter on perception again and re-evaluate. Her communication skills are fantastic, she may self disclose about her own life but she does it to help students make better connects to concepts. If you are a serious student, you will have no problems. The journal helps a lot

Professor Willets' teaching skills are average, however she can be extremely rude. For a professor that teaches communication she has awful communication skills. She can be very helpful, but I would not recommend her.

She is very rude, is an communications professor who should learn to communicate better with students. Being in her class you will learn lots about communicating better but not from the behavior of the professor.

I would not recommend Nancy as a professor for future students. The energy in the room was focused on her, stories about her dog, or other areas of social life that should be limited in the classroom. My experience was poor at best.

She plays favorites, though I was one of her favorites, so it obviously didn't affect me negatively at all. Her grading seemed very fair, and her assignments were within reason. She wants to push you as a student, and will help as much as you let her. Use all the resources at your disposal in her interpersonal class and you'll do fine.

Nancy is a quirky, funny, caring, and a slightly erratic proffessor. Do the work, don't be difficult, come to class and don't ask stupid questions and you will be fine. She can be very quick to snap back and a little snide but she does care and will help you if you as for help. Don't delay on the service learning.

Nancy is a very interesting professor. She knows her subject and explains everything in a clear way. She is fair and wants you to do well in class. Show up, stay up to date with the work and ask for help if you need it. This was a great class and I will hope to be a better communicator because of it.

Informative class. Most of the prior comments are true. If she likes you, you are all set and if she does not, watch out. She seems to enjoy embarrassing people in class and talks about other people in and out of class. I would avoid this professor if you can. The other communications professors are much nicer and balanced. Fair minded.

A very good professor. Has the knowledge and the heart for communications. Has help me throughout the course. Attendance is a must but its is a fun class. Tests are simple if you read the chapters. Three speeches are required. One volunteer project which was important and life time experience. She's witty, honest, fun and sincere.
