This Professor is super nice and very knowledgeable but beware, this was the hardest course I ever took and I have 90+ credits! Be prepared for 50+ question exams with 1 hour given, with most questions having 2-3 parts so its honestly more like 70-80 questions in 1 hour. Final exam was insane! He is nice but I would not take anymore classes w/him

I took this during intersession. He is AMAZING, i absolutely love him & will never understand the negative reviews. I'm still in touch with him & have nothing but nice things to say. He's funny, lectures and podcasts were interesting and even during a short term we had fun in class. I would absolutely take more classes with him and recommend him.

You still have to study and put in work to pass Chikarmane's class, but he is very outgoing and understanding of students. I took his Cell Bio course, and some labs were guided while some allowed students to create their own methods. He clearly cares about what students are gaining from his course, and is very available for extra help.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. He is knowledgeable but he doesn't do well explaining the information. He wrote the text for this class and its very poorly written. I'm disappointed in the bad experience I've had in a subject I love. Lots of "trick" questions on exams. Discouraging and confusing students is no way to teach! Steer clear

Hardest teacher at four c's, hardest tests because they're timed and he pulls information from parts no one would think to study. Research paper. Lots of papers in lab. Have to do alot of studying. I have always had As in everything and Ill consider myself lucky if I get a C. I wouldn't take a class with him if you can avoid it.

Such a hard class, but a very interesting one. Chikarmane is a funny guy and lectures and labs are awesome! Tests... good luck! Just study and go to the tutoring center as often as possible and you can manage to get a decent grade in this class. Biggest advice: Don't take a full course load with this class! Must dedicate a lot of time to pass!

I've never worked so hard for a B+ in my life. Loved the material. NOT an easy class. He is super smart, and funny. Hard not to like him even though he is tough. I put it about 20+ hours a week studying. Do not recommend taking this class over the summer.

The hardest class I have ever taken!LOTS of info to memorize.Test are very hard.He finds it funny to be tricky on tests and although you really want to hate him you just can't. He is extremely intelligent and very funny! There is a research paper, 4 exams, and a 200 question hard final exam. He does offer an extra credit paper...DO IT!!!

Very knowledgeable and helpful when asked questions. Podcasts all lectures so studying wasn't too bad. There is a lot of information, but there should be. Tests aren't easy but aren't impossible either. If you put in the study time you'll do fine. Posts textbook online, so you don't have to buy one. Labs are easy.

Tests extremely tough, knew his info but expected too much from a summer class. Don't call him for help in lab more than 2 times. After that, could tell he was aggravated. Dry humor. decent lab. I learned more from him than any other instructor at CCCC. He is a working scientist at Woods Hole. I screwed up my lab but worked my butt off in his class, so I still got a B. Most of the students didn't get his sense of humor.

Has interesting lectures. no textbook - just a cd with slides and readings. lab was terrible. he assigned us a TA (i didnt know community colleges had these) and she had no clue what she was doing. assignments were not explained clearly. tests were extremely hard and the final was ridiculous - 18 pages and 150+ questions in 2hrs!
