Definitely take her class. You will be happy you did. Her class entails reading short stories instead of reading out of a text book. After each reading, you take a short 5 question quiz prior to class. In class you basically review the short story, participation in the review is appreciated by the professor. I loved her class, and she is awesome!

Prof Allen is nice but the class was really, really unorganized and sadly I felt bored since day one. I feel like those 90 minutes twice a week were wasted which is such a HUGE disappointment... It was an easy A in one sense, however it was a pointless A at the same time. I wish the class time was utilized better, for everyone's sake.

Although she tends to go off topic it is impossible to walk out of this class without so much more knowledge than you came in with. She has an open mind and makes the class easy to pass, by making what she wants clear. She opens your mind to many new things.

Professor Allen, is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend her. She is kind, clear in her delivery and very humble. She actually failed English when she was in college as a student, however, she repeated the class and eventually became an English professor. So, she understands how to teach "how to write a research paper." Her class is also fun!

Tough class because of all the papers you have to write. She was an awesome lecturer. I highly recommend her to everyone that has to take English Comp II. She broke down the research paper so it was manageable.

Professor Allen is a phenomenal instructor! She loves what she does, cares for her students and wants the to succeed. Give your very best effort, participate, and ask her for help when you need it. Beautiful lady with a beautiful soul! I would love to take any class she offered to learn all I could!

Prof Allen is a beautiful soul! She is such a fantastic teacher and cares so deeply about every single student. She can be a tough grader, but that only pushes you to work harder! I learned so much from her and will never forget everything she taught me, not only about writing and english but also about life.

She is amazing professor who actually cares for the success of her students. The course work is very clear cut and she lays it all out at the beginning of the semester and exactly how it will be graded. If you are truly putting in effort you will pass this class. She is always willing to help or work with students. She's easy to listen to, not dull.

Ms. Allen is the best. She's hilarious and quite an inspiration. Always straightforward on the assignments, and struggles every minute to guarantee students' success. Her teaching style really engages students in discussions. She offered students a workshop where they could get help for their English papers and other classes' too. A gift to CCCC.

I love english, but sadly I didn't enjoy this class. Teaching style is quite unclear... I wish she was a bit more organized and focused. Assignments were scattered and I felt lost 99% of the time... If you don't mind going turtle slow and having jumbled assignments go ahead and sign up, but if you like to learn clearly and concisely do not.

Prof Allen is a very sweet lady. Classes are lecture based but rely on group participation. She is not the most organized or clear teacher however, her assignments are straightforward. She knows what she's teaching (Harvard!), she just doesn't deliver it clearly. Assigns online readings nightly. Overall, great as a person but a scattered teacher...

A gift to CCCC. I failed English twice in HS b/c I despised it so much. She made me love it. She taught you to write and view things, not so much where and when with punctuation, it was about writing!Very fair grader and I wish I could take her classes again.
