One thing I like about the class is that you offer revisions on projects to get a better score. A couple things I didn't like was that you never really knew where you stood in the class until midterms and finals and pay attention to the discussion boards their dates are tricky. Other than that take him EASY A!

Don't take Tim Parker, he grades so hard and does not give clear feedback! His assignments are not clear nor is his grading.

There are a lot of discussions. The key is to know when you have to post your discussion and when to reply to others. So you have a solid good three/four days from the end of the discussion (Friday) to post the next discussion (Tuesday). Then you reply to others on Tuesday to Friday. Find good articles to cite and have personal thoughts. Very easy!

I don't understand the complaints people have about him. All of the quizzes you can basically copy answers directly from the textbook. The essays are pretty easy as long as you're adhering to the guidelines provided in the textbook. I spent less than 20 hours on the class all semester and easily got an A

I highly recommend taking this class with someone else, Parker does not give good feedback when it comes to grading. I thought this would be an easy "A" considering it's a Gen. Ed. course, but it's a rough class in general. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Okay so you'd think professional writing would be easier online right? Wrong. Parker has the most unclear grading criteria and does not provide feedback in order for you to resubmit to get a higher grade. You have a group project. You have a textbook and even if you follow it to a tee you still might fail the letters. Take Boullard!

This professor is easily the worst professor I have ever had for an online class. This is an "easy A" in person, but when taken online, it is an easy C. His grading criteria is very unclear and his assignments make no sense. He even created a group project for an online course. Do not take this professor for an online course or you will regret it.

I warn you to steer clear of this guy for online ENGL 2880. This class is the biggest pain to keep up with. Impossible to make a good grade on ANY assignment. Does not give any useful feedback to correct your work for next time so youll keep failing discussions, assignments, and projects. It's baffling to me that this is a GEN ED yet so demanding.

His grading criteria is unclear and his feedback on papers is little to none. Read the syllabus and understand when assignments are due. Lot's of discussion boards that hardly anyone could make an A on because you never knew what he wanted. Buy the book, you'll need it. Overall easy class just very unclear on what he wanted and how he grades.

Did not provide much feedback on the assignments so be prepare to email alot to him. Work was not hard but it was not easy. takes more than 2 days to respond and the group work is what determines if you pass the course. the indirect method is the hardest so go research about it and learn it before you get to this course.

Does not provide details about the graded assignment . Forgets to add grades so always check for something if its not marked on the rubric. Not a quick res-ponder to emails so email him asap when he post something on black board

You have assignments and discussions due every week. He is a TOUGH grader. He picks out everything wrong with your work. I turned everything in on time, but made B's and C's on everything. Somehow made an A in the course. TAKE THE FINAL. He's good at replying to emails. You will need the textbook.

He is a really good teacher. The material in the class is pretty interesting. He gives you chances to redo almost every written assignment. You will need your textbook because he gives quizzes over almost every chapter, you will go over in the class. If you don't read, you won't pass the quizzes. Overall, solid teacher that is willing to help.

He's actually a pretty competent, low-demanding teacher. Does remind me of high school, however. He could have higher expectations of us, I think. By the way, anyone typing the word "you" with the letter "u" does not have a reason to complain about him expecting too much of us. He's a reasonable man.

He is NOT a good teacher. He is confusing. Nothing is clear. He holds a double standard for your work and his. He takes weeks to get grades back. His answers to most of my questions are sarcastic and he seems as though he is very annoyed. He allows revision for papers though.

One of my favorite professors at UTC! He is extremely helpful when it comes to the papers if you ask him for help. He grades the reading responses hard, but they don't affect your grade much at all. He proofreads and edits your papers and gives them back for you to correct before submitting them for the final grade. Easy A if you try.
