AVOID AT ALL COSTS! TOO OLD TO STILL BE TEACHING ONLINE DURING A PANDEMIC. STARTS SEMESTER LATE AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING BUT GIVE YOU A NOVEL AND TED TALKS TO TEACH YOURSELF. WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. LAUGHS AT YOU WHEN ASKING FOR HELP AND WILL RUIN YOUR GPA. SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR GPA. DONT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES. SHE NEEDS TO RETIRE!!!!

Very disorganized. Five assignments total, grades harshly. Her papers are vague with one question. She has no problem failing you and you have no way of redeeming any points, no extra credit. She does the bare minimum. However, she is nice, responsive, and tries to be helpful. I learned nothing from this subject, but I had to take it.

I wouldn't recommend her to anyone who cares about learning&their grades.I took it online and she assigns 30+ pages and hour long videos just for you to write a discussion post that is hard to relate back to them. She isn't clear with what she wants and grading scale is so abstract I never felt good about my discussion. 10 page paper at the end

She literally makes no sense with her work and expects you to do so much that really is not necessary. I would recommend taking this class with a different professor.

I took this class as a pre. req. for PT school. Despite this professors reviews, she was amazing. There are a lot of readings and a big final paper (10 pages). But if you do the paper along with the modules, it won't be so hard at the end. She grades a little tough on discussions, but does offer extra credit to cover missed points.

Do not take this course with her. If you're in nursing take any other professor and if none are available take IHHS 260 instead. Class is out of 100 points. There are 7 graded discussions and she grades them VERY strictly. 30+ pages of reading for each module and no textbook. Final paper is a 10 page autobiography worth 30 points. No extra credit.

disorganized and struggles with canvas online, lots of reading and directions are unclear, but she is very open to answering questions, she is caring of your feelings and questions, graded by few things as well so make sure you put your time into this class, no tests but paper for end of class

Took her online class and struggled a lot. She is not very clear on what she is asking for and requires you to read 30+ pages for one discussion and you don't even understand how to relate the two. Very unorganized and takes awhile to grade things. I feel like I haven't learned anything.

I found this professor to be very unclear and vague with discussion instructions, even after talking with her about ways she could be more clear. I constantly had to email her questions in order to 50%or more on the discussions. The class involves a lot of useless reading, and you basically have to write an essay for every threaded discussion.

Easily one of the most useless course I've taken. Very disorganized, criteria for assignments extremely unclear and vague. She posted the topic for our final paper 4 days before it was due, and the instructions were basically two sentences. I am leaving this class feeling like I have wasted my time in this course completely.

I took this class as a nursing prerequisite and I wouldn't recommend this professor, grading was very unclear. She told me that my threaded discussions were great but marked me down a lot of points. Then I also got marked down for citing something I learned in school and marked me down because she didn't agree with what I said.

Unclear instructions. Some of the grades she gave me made no sense. She said I did good on my writing for three out of four articles, but she only gave me a 50% on the discussion.

She is a little scatter brained but she really cares about her students and is very intelligent. She has taught in many different places and is very knowledgeable, she will give you leeway and is always pushing back due dates to help out students. There were a lot of assignments due at the end, but she is always willing to help! Great professor

Avoid her at all costs. I asked for help and she belittled me. Her instructions for the papers and discussion boards are very unclear. She says that if you do certain things you will get an "A" grade but even though I did what she said I still did not receive an "A" grade. If you can take the same course with another instructor, do it.

Professor Jones is hilarious and a wonderful woman! I enjoyed her class a lot. However, many of my classmates were unsatisfied with the class because she is quite scatterbrained. There was no midterm or final, but there were four minor papers and one huge final project. She isn't always clear, but if you ask her she'll attempt to explain it to you.

Most awful professor I've ever had. She took forever to respond to emails and when she did they were clipped and brief - usually unhelpful. I'm not sure she even read my papers.

I found myself looking forward to class. There is no textbook-readings are posted online. You don't have to do all the reading word for word, just take notes in class and ask questions if you don't understand something. Sylvia's classes are organized chaos. If you want to learn, she wants to help. She left me even more inspired to be a teacher.

WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! I tried asking for help many times and didn't receive any. Was forced to withdrawl because I knew I wasn't going to pass. She didn't have a book for the class which made studying impossible.

I took this Graduate level class during her 1st or 2nd online attempt. Her assignments were vague and the help that she provided during the class was not beneficial. She seemed to have a "Sink or swim" mentality.
