He raised the bar above anybody else, thus you have to work hard for your mark if you want to get a high A. A very helpful person - untiringly answers your questions before and after class, or even answers through email. He is experienced in this field and knows the ins and out of it. Very patient even when confronting a frustrated students.

Its simple really, do the take home quizzes, work your ass off and when you're done all that work even harder. This class isn't easy and Paul's lectures aren't as straight forward as we would like it to be, but as long as you have all the reference material, and aren't afraid to ask questions you can create a study guide. ASK QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!

Paul is disorganized and unclear in his instruction. He does not describe or write down concepts or formula. He handwaves and basically skips the teaching of concepts - he jumps straight to writing down unlabeled numerical answers. It's weird - he thinks we already know what he is trying to teach?? I'm sorry, but I don't find I'm learning from him.

Paul is a great teacher, if you show up to class you'll pass, but you will have to work hard to get an A. He is always willing to help and often provides optional tutorials which help clarify lecture materials.

Paul's unlimited help after class goes above and beyond expectations. Makes up for all shortcomings. Rewards people who put in a lot of effort. A criticism is his sometimes unwillingness to show detailed solutions on the board for some calculations.

Extremely knowledgable instructor with a wide and varied background experience. Instruction comes fast, and students are expected to work hard and keep up, however, Paul was always willing to spend extra time to do after hour tutorials, and one on one instruction.

Paul was prof for intro circuits course. He was a very thorough prof giving lots of examples. Exams and HW matched up well, if you did the HW, the exam was straight forward. I didn't seek out extra help but it was always offered. A criticism of the course is that Physics 11 was the prerequisite but Paul expected your knowledge to be above that.

Paul is a great teacher. Semi-conductors is a hard course by far. Paul expects you to do his homework and study on a regular basis. He gives free marks constantly if you show up and do your work. Long and hard final. But i feel i have a great understanding of the content. Oh and he likes his Octo-core computers.

Honestly I was terrified of Gruno in the first few weeks. He kept telling everyone they were gonna fail. It took me awhile to grasp his sense of humor, but once I realized he didn't think we were all clueless it was easy to see that he's a good teacher. Spent a lot of time doing tutorials for us and answering my endless questions. Thanks Paul!

Really nice guy with a positive attitude. Very intelligent and an expert in his field. He can answer with clarity any question you can throw at him. He will really go out of his way to help students. He's a real asset to Camosun College.

By far the best instructor I've encountered yet in my academic career. He knows the material cold, and presents it in a manner that is both intersting and clear. Freely gives of his own time for extra tutorials. Do the assignments, and you will do well in the course. Plus, you can earn bonus marks by finding typos!
