Exams were much more difficult than the material we covered in the lectures, the project was very hard, and he is an extremely tough grader. Power is rude and will show no empathy no matter what your situation is.

I wouldn't recommend him at all. In the first class, I thought he was going to be the best professor of the semester but instead he was the worst. The class may seem easy but his tests are not. He doesn't like giving A's, he usually gives only B's. VERY tough grader. He will never give you 0.01 points to have a better grade, so don't even ask.

Professor Power will make you work, but you will learn a ton. Expect every class to always be a mix of 70% his lectures and 30% two group presentations. The course includes a simulation game which is an excellent way to apply the info you learn throughout the year. An A is attainable if you do all your work, but beware he will make no exceptions.

Professor Power gives clear and understandable lectures but the tests and projects are a lot harder than the class material. He is a tough grader and will call you out in front of the class.

Professor Power's real world experience makes the lectures more interesting and easier to understand. Besides the tests and one project, everything is graded on completion. He is always open to answering questions from students during lectures, so take advantage of this. As long as you give him respect, he is understanding and will help you out.

not a nice guy. Yelled at someone for using the bathroom too much, gives absolutely no leniency for anything for any reason. Assigned a group project that takes 8-10hrs. only gave 8 days to work on it, had to be worked as a group. The project opened online the first fay of thanksgiving break, so we only had 3 weekdays to do 10hrs of group work

The class is extremely easy for tests, but the bulk of your grade is subjective from participation and presentations. His grading scale is only between 84 and 88. If you do a bad job you get an 84.... if you spend 10 hours on something and it is spectacular you get an 88. This makes it extremely easy to get a B+ / A-, but difficult to get an A.

Power was a great professor, one of the best I've had at NU. He made Supply Chain really interesting and showed that he cared about the topic, but also cared about making sure we understood the material. He was also great about giving real world examples for just about everything. 3 Tests, non cumulative, final project simulation instead of final.

If you want to learn about supply chain, take this class. If you want an A, don't. Power knows everything about supply chain and you can learn a ton from him, but the course is super fast paced and his exams are next to impossible. His questions are confusing and sometimes aren't related to in class material at all. Only take if you're a SCHM conc.

Prof Power is a super nice guy and is very accessible outside of class. However, he makes his tests so hard (and will tell you that on day 1) that you cannot learn Supply Chain past memorizing and forgetting it for the tests. It is a shame because the subject was interesting. There are WAY easier profs.

Most difficult intro class taken so far! He tells you at the very beginning that class is not easy. Strict grader and tough on class policies. Heavy use of powerpoint so lectures can be boring. On the plus side he does have a lot of experience in the industry so he does make it relatable. Tests are super difficult so READ ahead of time! Good Luck!

DO NOT be late to his class. He takes attendance at the very beginning of class (and I mean 8am, not 8:01) and he notes who comes in late, who is not paying attention, etc. He covers all topics for the course very completely, but it is best to come to class having already read the material. He is demanding of your attention, but his class is fun

Read the textbook, pay attention/participate in class, you'll survive. He has a ton of relevant industry experience. The other reviews are pretty soft, he is a tougher grader but if you read the textbook and the highlighted learn smarts you can easily get above a 90. The overall grade also if very distributed through different assignments.

Take his class if you are good at multiple choices. Almost no students would get overall hw and presentation scores lower than 87 points. The biggest issue is the three tests. Extremely hard tests. A hint here: If you have to take his class, after he graded your tests, try to argue with him about questions you got wrong, he make mistake sometimes

I enjoyed Professor Powers class for the most part. He knows what he's talking about & gives good examples. There is hw due every class but its very helpful in learning how to apply the material. Tests are fair & you'll do well if you listen in class & read the textbook. Only complaint is he seemed unnecessarily hard in grading final presentation

Not bad. Lectures done well and he has a lot of experience in the field. He is very clear about what he wants for assignments and is very strict about getting that. Exams are a little tricky - but he does let you dispute questionable answers. Again, strict, but gets his point across well.
