Comment:
Literally the worst professor. Gives literal sentence prompts but will take off credit if it's not exactly what he wanted. Does not care about students who have covid or are in quarantine and will do anything to get a student in trouble with the school.

Ugh. This class is just ugh. Not that many papers, so 1 paper has a heavy weight on your grade. He is the worst grader. Gives little to no guidance on prompts then takes off so many points for not doing exactly what he wanted. Lectures are so boring. The essays are grueling. Do not take this class.

I would definitely recommend taking this course if you are wanting a chill, straightforward class. Literally just show up, take notes and put in the tiniest bit of effort. Notes from lectures are helpful when it comes to the essays on the tests. He likes to call on students, so just read the sparknotes (at the absolute minimum) and you'll be fine.

Professor Carnes is super nice and a pretty all around good professor. He is clearly knowledgable and enthusiastic about the material he teaches and wants his students to be the same way.

Carnes is an adorable man. He loves what he is teaching and gets more into Greek Lit than I thought possible. He brings a lot of fun to the class through dorky jokes and bits (funny). He randomly calls kids out during class to answer questions, so be prepared. The tests are hard and the expectations vague, but I still liked the course
