Bad with technology. Easily gets off topic in his own lectures. Made us learn things from his own book that didnt relate to the class and then graded us on it. I usually really like Biology but I did not enjoy this class. Pretty sure hes retiring this year. The only thing I liked was that he didnt give us a comprehensive final because of covid.

Corotto is easy if you just stay focused and memorize the presented material. Shouldn't be an issue for a science major

Paying attention to what he says in lecture is the key to getting an A in the class. The textbook is only used as a reference. He tells you what to look at in the textbook, so you do not have to waste time reading the entire chapter. As an update he does not give study guides for any of his classes. He is always available outside of class.

In this class you have 4 tests and a final. The averages that he told us ranged from high 50s for some test up to low 70s. Most were mid 60s. He is extremely disorganized in how he lectures. Some professor through no fault of their own were never taught how to support learning instead of lecturing. He is one of these professors.

His class is very unorganized with a serious misconnect of information. It does not flow and he often goes on tangents. Tests are extremely detailed, often with information he told you not to worry about. Unreasonable amount of work required for a good grade.

Dr. Corotto is a very tough grader and does not do a great job describing things throughout lecture. He mainly teaches off power points and the main grades are test grades.

I really liked Dr. Corotto's class. It wasn't an easy A, but if you care about biology, this is a good class. His grading is tough, but I felt like it was fair. Tests are based largely on the study guide and lecture- the book wasn't used much (I used it to clarify confusing subjects). Labs were pretty straightforward. I learned a lot from Corotto!

Corotto is a great teacher! His class is definitely a challenge. He grades based off of a point system and you have to keep up with your own grade. He gives lecture outlines so you can follow along with the lecture. Also, there are exam study guides for 3 of the 4 lecture exams. You have to come into this class ready to listen or you have no chance

Comment:
Doctor Corotto is extremely smart, and I think that is why it is hard for him to teach this entry level science major bio class. He does not explain things well and goes over the power points very fast, and if you ask questions he often laughs and says things like "well you should already know that" instead of explaining. Would not take again.

Corotto is a pretty cool guy, but his class is definitely hard. A lot of the time, I didn't really understand what was being covered in lecture, but the guided notes he gives out make it really easy to learn if you're willing to study. He gives out study guides for his tests, so make sure your know everything on there, and you'll do pretty well.

He made 1107k bearable considering its going to be hard material no matter what. He is a little scatter brained only because he's so excited about what he's talking about. He gives lecture outlines to fill out, which is a blessing. He also provides a study guide for his tests. If you study over the lecture everyday, and really learn, it is fine.

Dr. Corotto is a really nice guy and he knows his material. He gives lecture outlines and he goes by them. I thought the class would be a little easier with those outlines but the tests are hard so be extra prepared when taking them. I only used the Biology book as a reference to certain diagrams that he would go over in class.

Absolutely love corotto! His lectures can be long but he really tries to make them fun. He is very straightforward with grading. Go to class, take notes, record the lectures. Then memorize EVERYTHING on the outlines. This class really challenges how much you can memorize. If you can memorize very well you should make nothing less than an A.

Decent teacher, but has an annoying style. I couldn't understand 90% of what he was talking about during class. Then I would go watch a khanacademy video and immediately understand.

Dr. Corotto is a great professor. He really loves cell biology! The lectures could be mundane sometimes, but not always. Come to class, listen, fill in the lecture outline, read the chapter (not required, but reading the chapter helped clarify some areas for me), and study! The tests are not bad if you study!!

Dr. C is a HOOT. A brilliant owl, I might add. He is passionate about cellular biology and physiology and sees the value in visual learning-for example, acting out flagellar movements with his entire body. He is thoroughly enjoyable and VERY hot! Have you seen him jogging around town? There is some major tonage under those oxfords. Phew.

Dr C is a great teacher. Don't expect an easy class because let's face it Cell Biology is not a piece of cake, but if you study hard and keep up with his notes you will do good. I used the book a lot and it helped me tons.

Incompetent. Can barely answer any question. Most common word he uses is "somehow." He knows his field of study, but is no good for general biology courses. In lab gives his own handout which does not even go together with what's in the lab.

Dr. Corotto is a very good teacher, but he is hard. Print out his outlines & take notes during the lecture. He doesn't use the book regularly, we had one short chapter to read & answer questions on. He seems willing to help if you take the time to ask him. Overall, he is an extremely good teacher, probably one of the best I've had.
