Comment:
The man is a legend, both in the class and on the streets. Tufts is a hollow shell of it's former self without him. He went back to his homeland, and I expect him to finally buy the Jaguar XF he so much deserved along with several emeralds for his wife and he will probably go to Istanbul. George Norman: Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.

Lectures were really boring, and he has all the slides online so a lot of people don't go. The tests can be hard but he curves them all.

Dull lectures, exams do not measure how much you understand his courses, they are hard because he just wants them to be hard, or easy because he wants to save you from being miserable

I was not a huge fan of Norman. He taught straight out of the textbook with no deviation. The exams and problem sets often had little correlation. I would not recommend him.

Dull format, though Prof Norman tries to keep the room awake with his good sense of humor. Tests can be a little hard. Not necessary to buy the textbook or go to recitation. Everything is in the powerpoints.

Can be very boring, but thats Intro Econ. Does a solid job of outlining everything and is fairly easy. Class can be skipped if you go through the power points alone.

I found that despite not being particularly gifted at Econ, I was able to get a good grade in this class because it is straightforward. He teaches basically what's going to be on the test and if you study from the power points and read the text book you should be fine. TAs can also be very helpful in this class. The downward curve was annoying..

Very funny professor, teaches what you need to know for class and exam, no more no less. Uses powerpoint from textbook, if you are smart enough, no need to attend class, it's fairly easy. Sometimes it is hard to understand him, so you might wanna hurry up to his lectures and get the front seats!

He's super monotone and grumbles when he speaks so most of the time I couldn't understand what he was saying. After the second week I realized he was regurgitating the textbook word for word so I just stopped going (couldnt understand him anyway). Disappointing since coming in I wanted to do econ and this was my first econ course at tufts

This class is not too bad if you attend lectures, actually do the readings, and attend recitation. Otherwise you will be completely lost and it's hard to catch up. The workload isn't bad if you keep up.

Norman's a funny guy but this class wasn't fun and the tests are much more complicated than the material covered in class.

The class is too big, 450, but if you sit in the front you'll be able to ask questions and it feels smaller. The problem sets are on the textbook website and fine, and the tests follow the study guides he puts up closely so they're fine too. His accent takes a little getting used to, but he's funny and understands that basic econ is not that fun.

Can you never go to class, read the textbook and do really well? Yeah. But, Norman's lectures are helpful if you need them to clarify material. Plus, he's funny and makes a huge class feel small. The class is what you make of it. If you want to understand what he is saying, sit in the front. He's a great guy.

There's no reason to go to this class- read the textbook and you will do fine. It's impossible to understand him when he talks, and the problems he puts up for practice are laughably easy.

Funny, scotish, nice. He can be hard to understand but it doesn't matter because you don't need to go to do well. Tests are very textbook based, and problem sets easy.

Solid econ professor, really helps you out by giving you exactly what will be on the test before to practice. Funny, Scottish, and awesome. sometimes goes on tangents and isn't always perfectly understandable but he tries his best
