No tests or quizzes, but has you write a 1000 word essay every week. He wrote his own textbook and that is what he expects you to base your papers on. He allows you to make corrections to papers for more points, which is awesome, but will make more corrections after you've already corrected the things he pointed out the first time.

Dr. Jones is very intelligent, but also very opinionated. He rarely gives clear answers, and is somewhat arrogant. I had him for a half-semester class (13 weeks) with only 12 other students in the class and he never even bothered to learn my name. The grade was based on daily quizzes with confusing questions, and when asked to clarify, he didn't.

This class was very thorough. He assigns a lot of reading, but you can honestly not bother; there are daily quizzes over the readings but they aren't very hard and they're not worth much either. The class is dreadfully boring unless you're interested in history; if you aren't, you'll really hate it by the end of the year.

This class was both the most work and the best class I've taken in college. You must read the textbook because there are daily quizzes and the tests are difficult. However, every class is a discussion where he brings up thought-provoking questions and it is the coolest experience. If you are willing to work, you will get an A and have a great time.

He wrote the textbook so you get it online. It's clear, brief, and has an interesting perspective. There are daily reading quizzes that often focus on specifics. The tests are short essay questions that require regurgitating his information, so they're not too bad. Class is all discussion so it can be good depending on the students.

Excellent professor! He's super cool and knows what he's talking about. No textbook required for my class, he wrote all material and has it online. Be warned: it is a lot. Plenty of reading for every class period and a small quiz every day. But they're tolerable, and the class sessions are discussion based and really fun. I would definitely take.

This was both the most frustrating and most rewarding class I took my freshman year. There is constant reading and quizzes but I looked forward to class every time because it was all discussion on really thought-provoking topics that Dr. Jones comes up with. Not hard to get an A if you are willing to work.

He is a great man and easy to talk to. The essay tests are very hard but the papers are usually manageable because he corrects your rough draft and then lets you turn in a final. It is the most time consuming class I took my entire freshman year as a gen ed.

Honors course with Dr. Jones was very interesting. Long readings assigned almost every night, quizzed on content the next day. Quizzes are curved at the end of the semester. If you write down the terms he puts down on the powerpoint, and study them, you shouldn't have any problems on the tests and final which is not cumulative.

Dr. Jones is refreshingly old-school. His textbook is online so you don't have to buy one and you have a reading then a quiz every day. If you are interested at all in the subject matter, you'll love the class. Dr. Jones will clarify anything you need, but you do have to ask. He has a dry sense of humor, too. The tests are essays.

I honestly love this man. He's such a nice person. The class material can be hard, but he allows rewrites of all the papers you write. The tests are hard to study for but he goes over the reading well enough for you to have something to write. The class is also a really good bonding experience. You get to know Jones and the other students well.

This was by far my favorite class this semester. I did not like the content, but I loved the professor and the students. Dr. Jones is kind of a hard grader, but his chapter readings are very straight forward. Outside readings are a little more challenging, but the class is definitely manageable.

Had him for an online summer class. Only critiqued your grammar. Textbook was one he had written (wordy and boring). Never said anything positive about your writing. DON'T TAKE HIM FOR AN ONLINE CLASS!!!!

You will need to attend class to do well, but that is not such a problem. The discussions are interesting and if you want to do well on the tests you should take notes. The entire textbook is online and he wrote it himself, so he knows his stuff. He is extremely funny and interesting.

Dr. Jones is the best professor I have ever studied under. His low-stress class environment encourages real discussion and he is very knowledgeable. Daily quizzes aren't hard, and function as a way to boost your grade, ensure attendance, and make sure you do the reading. Bonus points: he built and flies his own plane. A true renaissance man.

Dr. Jones(not indiana) was a very fun professor to have, especially if the people in your class are interesting and active. He basically just opens the class up for discussion, you have to read for class every day and show up for quizzes but that doesn't bother me much.

All "text book" readings are free online. You must read to do well on the daily quizzes. Tests are essays which demand full understanding of the material. He does not lecture, but rather opens the class to discussion, which often runs off-topic. He understands that students can't be forced to learn. Take his class at the first opportunity!

Dr. Jones is full of crazy stories and loves to bring antique weapons to class. You MUST do the readings and attend class to do well, and it is only entertaining if you (and your classmates) are willing to talk and ask questions. His policy is that if you run out of stuff to talk about, he will lecture, and a lecturer he is not...
