Tap is a great guy. He's my favorite professor on campus. He can be hard to work with sometimes but he just wants you to be doing your absolute best. At times it may seem he's asking for too much but if he truly is asking for too much he will see that and give you more time or be a bit easier on the grading.

Tap may be a hardass but that's because he loves you and wants you to succeed! It's such a shame that he's retiring; he's the only competent professor in the theatre discipline....

Comment:
Tap is tough--he works hard and he expects his students to do the same. He's also secretly a big softie. I've been out of college for 11 years and have been working as a theatre professional since then and I've discovered that I use EVERYTHING I learned in his classes. He's the best teacher I've ever had.

Comment:
He is a tough-as-nails ex-marine who teaches a drama class. Never though I'd see that combination. You will see both sides of his character come out when you take his classes. This can be scary, but he is really helpful if you just give him a chance.

Tap is a HARD ASS with very high standards. He doesn't take any excuses. However, that being said, he is also an excellent teacher and very good at helping when you don't understand the material or are having problems.

Tap gets a bad rap because he is firm and wants a job well done, but he is a nice guy. I don't think he realizes that he intimidates people.

Comment:
Fundamentals of Design was a pretty tough class for being freshman level. The "major work" he expects pretty much means you should be artistically talented. Not a bad guy, but sort of intimidating.
