Enjoyable, discussion based class. You do need to study for exams and take good notes both from the book and from class. Pay attention and participate and you'll do fine. Very interesting material and excellent teaching

Dr. Raker is the best. This class was super interesting compared to most of my other classes, mostly because of how hands-on it was. There were 4 projects that were all very helpful in terms of planning for having my own classroom. I would definitely recommend Dr. Raker!!

He is super easy to talk to and always willing to offer extra help when needed. The class consists of 4 major projects which aren't too difficult after he thoroughly explains them. Very nice professor!

Really great professor. You do a lot of group and small group projects in this class. He's great about making sure everyone is following along and not falling behind. Fun class, would definitely recommend him as a professor and wouldn't hesitate to take another class with him.

Dr. Raker is a great professor. He really cares and wants students to do well. There are three tests and a final but he drops the lowest grade. If you read the textbook and take notes in class, the tests aren't too bad. He also grades on participation in class and a manual from the two observation days required for this course. 10/10 class!

Very chill guy, lots of fun stories. Challenged everyone to participate by expressing their opinion on educational issues/theories and consider what made them think that way. Only three tests plus an observation packet, paper, and final. With the four exams, lowest was dropped.

Such a great prof for computers in ed. Only 4 projects for the semester so you have time to really work on them and do well. He allows you to work by yourself or in a small group. Very helpful when you have questions. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

Good lecturer. Class very informative. Tests are easy if you read the text book and study. Loves to ask tough questions and make you think. Need to participate to get a good grade, but it is easy enough to do so.

Be prepared to get involved as Dr. Raker expects you to talk in class. He does play devil's advocate and this can be intimidating at times. Class time is used well to discuss various topics from the text. Taking computers class with him next semester.

Taking a class in computers was something I was nervous about since I'm not a fan of technology, but Prof. Raker prepares you for each assignment that he gives. The class consists of four projects which are easy after he gives a tutorial. Simple and enjoyable class since there's no exams or final. Highly recommend taking this class with him

He was really clear in his lectures, but then not so much with the tests. He wouldn't really tell you what was going to be on them or was clear on what you should study. He was really nice and always made sure you knew what you were doing during in class work or when you worked on your manual.

Amazing Professor! Everyone said that he was a hard professor but he really is not. He knows his subject extremely well. Had him for Schools and American Culture and absolutely loved it. Class time was used well. Test material is from notes you take and the textbook. Make sure you read the textbook chapters he assigns and will do well in class.

Amazing professor. Very kind and helpful and knowledgeable on the subject. Had him for School's in American Culture and I loved it. Class time was never wasted and I always felt as though I was learning. Much of the material on tests is covered in class, but not all of it so be sure to read the book and it'll be an easy class.

I had him for Computers in Education. I really enjoyed the class and I learned a lot of new useful skills for the computer. He tries really hard to make sure you understand. If you actually pay attention to the tutorials he gives before each project you'll be fine. None of it is as hard as it seems.

He is formal, which is evident at first. But as time goes on, you can see his informality grow and how cool he really is. The class was great; you learn SO much. He will push you and play devil's advocate, but it will really make you think and learn. Four tests (lowest is dropped), a paper, and an observation manual. Not too bad at all.

Pretty tough teacher but he's very good and you learn a lot. Just be prepared to study, because the tests can be hard. Even though it was one of my harder classes, I think I enjoyed it most.
