He is very nice. Yet extremely odd. He wants you to read the textbook but he almost never reviews it. All his tests ended up either being take home or group and we graded them in class so it was an easy A of course. He did have us do a group project that was pretty straight forward and easy. Extremely interesting to talk to one on one I might add.

Although I got a good grade in this class, I thoroughly disliked it and I'm glad I never have to go back. It was so boring and confusing, and just plain painful. You have to try hard to stay awake and really study hard for his tests to get a good grade.

I took Rice for PHIL 101, 103, and 240. He is very knowledgeable and an awesome professor. Very little homework is required, however, studying is important for the tests. The tests can be confusing, especially if you don't understand the content. He tends to curve test grades to the highest grade in the class. I recommend taking his classes.

Not such an easy class, but hes a nice guy and he knows a lot. My mind was blown sometimes. You can get by not having the book. COME TO THE OPTIONAL CLASSES! He will end up adding extra credit and will help you on your projects.

Amazing professor. I've been around the CCBC circuit and I would say that he is the best I have had, bar none. If I weren't transferring, I would take some of his other classes. Many tests that each follow a subject. Be in class regularly or you will get lost. Also took PHIL240. Both classes were worth way more that I paid for them. Take.his.class.

Take his critical thinking class (Phil 103)regardless of your major. You will learn so much from this man- and he's very adaptable to problems. Just make sure you study your notes for the tests. I'm taking him again, even though I don't need to.

Interesting character. Attendance is optional which is good if you like sleeping in, but necessary if you want to get the most out of the class. Tests get progressively more difficult and the class project actually is a lot of fun to do.

Prof. Rice is the man! If you can take this class. He doesn't care about the tradtional aspects of school (the parts that make it boreing) but concentrates on the more important things. Test and projects actually work! I still remember the mid-term, and trust me, it's information you want to remember.
