There's a big project that was interesting but Jerry is an awesome guy who really cares about social work and his students. I would 100% take him again and probably will. Lectures are a bit boring but I can't complain!

Good at making a 2-3 hour lecture not feel so long. The tests make sense and basically allow you to prove you paid attention and know the material in a very easy way.

Comment:

Professor Hendricks is a great teacher. He based his lectures on his own stories and experience in the social work field. The only downside of his class is that it was all out of 100 points. It doesn't leave any room to miss a quiz or assignment. It's important to read the textbook because all the quiz information comes from the book.

We had a group project & paper, 8 short quizzes on the book, and 2 exams (the final you can opt out of if you have a high enough grade). He tells you exactly what's on the exams. His lectures are boring but this was an easy A. Group project sucked but it's easy to do.

Professor Hendricks works in the field and truly cares about social work. He teaches by telling stories which are super helpful in understanding the content. There are only 100 points in the class so you need to do the work and readings he gives but nothing in the class is exceptionally difficult. I would highly recommend him!

I truly enjoyed Jerry's lectures about his time as a social worker. His experience is inspirational and interesting, making a 3 hour night class enjoyable. Also, he always let us out super early and that was much appreciated. If you do the reading and show up to class I think this is an easy A, especially with all the extra credit opportunities.

Professor Hendricks is an amazing prof! He knows what hes talking about since he is a social worker. Lectures were always interesting and always got out at least an hour early. Easy quiz to start every class, easy short answer midterm, one group paper/presentation, and take home final exam.

Jerry is great but he tends to get off topic on tangents which sometimes is really interesting but other times not. He has lots of good feedback and life experience in the social work field which is great but again, not super focused all the time. BEWARE OF ATTENDANCE. Your quiz grades will make or break you. The plus? Final will probs be takehome.

This guys will probably remind you of your dad. Hes super experienced in social work and has a story for just about every lesson. Hes very reasonable with grading and stuff. Do your work and itll be okay. His 6-9 never goes the whole length

Jerry is SUCH A NICE GUY. Pretty funny too. I'm not a SW major and I was skeptical taking this class - but I'm so glad I did. I actually really learned a lot. He only lectures in his 6-9, but class never goes that long. He really cares about his students - one day he brought pizza and pop in for everyone!

He is very straight forward in his lectures. He tells you what will be on the exam. If you get above a 96, you don't have to take the final. He's funny and genuinely cares about social work and his students. I would take a class with him again.

Prof Hendrick is by far the best professor I have had. He's super funny and cares about all of his students. He goes out of his way to help his students. His lectures never seem long because they are so interesting!! He is a wonderful teacher and also a wonderful person. I highly recommend taking his class, you will not regret it!!

I was unsure about the social work program before and I was 100% sure after taking this class with him. He is incredibly passionate about this subject and he give very clear examples. He is very approachable and helpful with the group project. He is a very nice guy and a wonderful professor. I highly recommend him!

Jerry was a great instructor. His didn't just teach the material he also shared tips about social work and personal experiences. I feel much more prepared about going into the social work field and also more enthusiastic to help others. The lectures were very interesting and I didn't want to miss them.

Jerry is an amazing teacher! I loved going to his 6-9 class each Tuesday. I honestly feel like he is a big reason why I'm sure I want to be a social worker. He has amazing stories, make sure to read the assigned readings, he does have 2-3 pop quizzes! Take him even if you aren't a SW major just because he's that amazing :)

Professor Hendricks was by far the best professor I've ever had. If you have a hard time in his class it is because you are unconcerned with the social state of our country. He gives powerful, inspiring lectures. He is still working in the field and is able to answer any question students have with surgical precision. I definetely recommend him!

He made lecture really intersting. Shares lots of personal experiences pertaining to the material. doesn't use blackboard at all. hardly follows the syllabus. Not very clear on expectations and grades hard. But that's the nature of this major I think.

He is a pretty good teacher, has a lot of good experience. Easier than most of the other SW teachers I have heard. Isn't particularly helpful outside or inside of class. Tough grader and doesn't give very much help in preparing for the final.
