Comment:
Dr. Wolford's is very relaxed and occasionally a little disorganized. Her tests themselves are kinda hard and vague but she grades the SUPER easy so you're guaranteed to do well. You will have to read the textbook though and the class discussions do matter a lot. She really cares and gives great feedback and responds very quickly to emails.

Lectures are boring, and the exams are word for word in the textbook. However, a simple reread of lecture notes should do you good. Professor Wolford is a 10X better advisor. She went above and beyond for me.

I took PSY451. I highly recommend this course and professor: the course teaches you how to better understand what people are going through and how to help them, and she is understanding. Honest communication is big; I emailed apologizing in advance for tardiness on a paper bc of other classes, and she gave me an extension, twice. Hw&quizzes easy.

The tests are very hard. Honestly, she doesn't make the material seem as interesting as it really is. You need to read the textbook to do well. You should definitely take advantage of the extra credit opportunities. The experiments or studies was a better choice to me than the long paper and presentation option. That's likely what got me the A.

If you aren't a Psych major, do not take this class. If you are a Psych major, take it with another Professor. She is honestly so boring and even though I am usually good with retaining info from lectures, I had trouble doing so because she seemed bored the whole time. Not an easy A class whatsoever. You need to read the textbook. tests are HARD

She is extremely nice and has so much experience, but she is bad at actually teaching the subject. She knows everything there is to know, but does not seem to know how to teach it to others. You have to read the book and re-teach yourself to do well and actually understand the concepts. Very nice woman, but would not recommend to others.

Def not easy, but not impossible.Go to the reviews held by the TA's; it helps a lot.Gotta go to class, pay attention & study to do well, but its worth it.Was my fave of the semester. The ex cr paper (not bad) & presentation got me to an A so I didnt have to take the final.Print slides before class so u can fill in w/ details, makes it easier.

Online course. I felt she barely read my submissions. I had a problem with her grading occasionally. She would give me a reduced grade and tell me left specifics out. However, the specifics were in the essays. I would point that out and she would blow me off.

Very nice and pleasant, well versed in her field (lots of experience). Not the most effective instructor. The material seemed so easy in class, but exams were quite challenging. She takes minimalist approach (very few assignments to grade, etc.). Offered lots of extra credit. For an upper division psych class, very little actual work (but STUDY!).

the nicest teacher i had all semester. the course can be challenging but if you like psychology it will be worthwhile. the only thing i didnt like was that the power points are not detailed and that makes them hard to study off of so make sure you take notes about class discussions

Dr. Wolford is one of my favorite psych professors. Lectures are interesting, tests aren't too bad, and the homework is reasonable. She's one of the more caring professors you'll meet.

I had her for Abnormal Psych and she is a good professor as well as a nice lady. The class was not too hard if you study, and she drops the lowest test grade. Also if you have a low absence rate, she gives you extra points at the end of the semester! Also gives plenty of extra credit opportunities! :-)

Incredibly smart, fair, patient, lectures are interesting, she keeps your attention but you have to sit near the front to get away from the noise of the back rows (this class was quite large), even if you decide not to read the book, at least use the study aides on the book website and watch the videos on the book dvd-they'll help you A LOT on tests
