Macres like your cool uncle that buys you stuff for Christmas and owns a motorcycle. Awesome dude. His tests were very fair and basically as long as you understood the homework (which he always reviewed) youll be fine. Doesnt believe in attendance but it helps to go. I was told to take him for accounting and wasnt disappointed.

Fair teacher. Very knowledgeable in Accounting but not very good at conveying that knowledge to students. He typically gives 3 tests. The homework is from the book and is not graded. Business majors who want a relatively easy A usually take this class.

I loved Professor Macre. I wasn't anything close to a business major, but decided to test out finance. His tests are exactly what he gives you in the reviews. Do the homework, even if you don't, at least copy the answers off the board to help you study for the tests. Very enthusiastic about Accounting. Gives examples from his own business.

Accounting Information Systems is the most boring class in the school. We didn't cover as much of the book as I'd have liked to. The tests were difficult, but what saved my grade was the group project which he was very generous in grading.

Macre is by far the best teacher at Franciscan. Owns a bar and grill, runs an accounting practice, and he still has time to teach at a university. Best yet, he's a Republican. Never takes attendance, and in fact he lead his graduating class in college for most skipped classes, so you know you can slide on by with a few. Just don't tell Materniak.

When a professor takes attendance the first day of class and singles a student out by saying, "Weren't you at Stony's Tavern last night?" you know there is a disconnect. Prof Macre wasted an opportunity to inspire students. The guy own's several businessnes here in Steubenville. A great businessman who just read from the textbook without enthusiasm
