Edwards is an arrogant man with a lot of cultural baggage. Claims to know his stuff, then when a student challenges him he shuts them down and refuses to have an intellectual conversation. Worst anth professor at LSU.

Avoid him, he rambles and is really boring. I made a B only because I read all the assigned chapters, and had previously taken anthropology classes.

He is a terrible teacher. His lectures are spacey, he is very hard to follow. You will come out of class with notes that do not make sense at all. His powerpoints pose questions with no content and going to class does not help fill them out at all. I would not recommend him at all. His tests are very hard. Terrible teacher.

Most will find his tests very difficult! I was able to luck into a B without ever opening a textbook, but it was still my lowest grade by far. Lowest quiz is dropped so that is a plus! Probably would not reccommend him for anyone looking for a humanity. I've heard ANTH 1001 with Tague is much better

I loved this class. If you pay attention in class and read the materials then it is so interesting and the tests are easy. We had 4 or 5 books (including the text) to read, but two were super easy and even entertaining. Dr. Edwards is a great teacher. He made everything interesting. One downside: when he says a foreign word he uses a funny voice.

Honestly, the class was boring. Edwards does know what he is talking about so I give him credit for that. But you do a great deal of reading out the textbook & a lot of studying to make a "decent" grade. His tests are very difficult and long. He's kind of all over the place and not too enthusiastic. Goodluck to anyone who decides to take him!

Edwards is an intelligent man however, for a 1000 level course requires a lot of his students. Notes from him, the textbook and a suplimental case study must be studied throughly to make a decent grade in this class. If you are not willing to work to make a good grade look to a different professor

Very intelligent professor with a great deal of knowledge about his subject area; needs to be more sensitive to the ethnicities of the individuals in his class (offensive statements made in class, presented and defended as scholarly/academic).

Edwards knows what he is teaching. He brings his experience into the class room. He tries to make the class interesting, and I, who, enjoy anthropology, did not enjoy his class. I went everyday but found it hard to get good notes to prepare for the test properly.

Edwards makes anthropology fascinating! I never had heard of it until I took his class and I feel I've taken much away from it. Hatrers probably didn't go to class, because he didn't come off to me as rude at all. Tests are easy if you skim the chapter, take notes in class and go over them before the test. My most interesting professor.

This teacher made class fun... the people that are saying he is rude probably never went to class. His ability to bring his experiences to the class room helps provide clear examples.

Edwards is a nice guy who knows his $#!t. He has been all over the world and brings that experience to the classroom. The only negative is that about 250 of the 300 students in the class could care less about Anthropology. Take that as you will.
