Comment:
Professor Keller's lectures are amazing and were honestly the best part of my week. She is extremely caring and willing to help you. However, there is a lot of reading and if you do not genuinely enjoy literature you will not enjoy this class. If you aren't looking for a challenge and just something to satisfy comm B I would go with something else.

Prof. Keller's lectures are an absolute bore and she expects everyone to have the same amount of passion for her class as she does (even though most people are just in it for satisfying a com b). Also if you dont want to read 50-60 pages a night, turn back now.

Took this class for Comm B and lit credit. Obviously it is a lot of reading if it fulfills those two things. Lecture did get boring, but if literally all you did was read, attend lecture, and spend at least three good hours on both papers you should be fine in the class. Overall it made me think, and I enjoyed it.

Go to class, get the attendance grade. Read the material. Give up half way through. Decide to buy audible. Hate yourself because you spent your weekends reading and not getting lit. Pass because you attended lecture.

Typical literature class. Lots of reading and lots of analyzing particular texts and specific passages, words, or sentences.

Her classes are long and boring, and there is an insane amount of reading assignments. She also takes lecture time to preach about her personal political beliefs, this semester specifically involving the Ferguson debates. It is hard to get anything other than a B on anything. Hope for a good TA. Do not take just for com B, take something better.

I see many neutralnegative reviews for 100-level courses. I'd assume those are from freshman. Literary analysis is a skill set many freshman haven't yet honed; my last paper I got an "A" even though her first comment was that she disagreed with what I was arguing. She expects quality work, but she's more than open to your own interpretations.

Professor Keller is a really nice lady but her lectures are boring and she doesn't keep up with her power point slides which is frustrating. There is a ton of reading and most of the books aren't very interesting. She also takes attendance for both lecture and discussion.

She's nice and loves what she does, but if you don't like literary analysis you won't like this class. She takes attendance in lecture, and discussion, but it's an easy grade booster just to be there. There was a lot of reading and not all of it was wonderful. She's a great teacher to learn from but be interested in the subject or you'll be bored.

Comment:
Professor Keller has a heart of gold, but she is very eccentric and frankly the lectures are hard to listen to. There is an excessive amount of reading, which is to be expected of a lit class, but the books were dry and painful with the exception of the final one, Oryx and Crake. She takes attendance during lecture.

Lots of reading and your grade is almost entirely based on the midterm papers. It's hard to get an A, but if you're creative and love writing, not impossible.

Keller is crazy, her class was really obnoxious. I took a FIG with her class as the "central class" but I really wasn't interested in the subject matter at all. If you can avoid having her, I'd highly recommend that.

She is a really nice lady that loves teaching, but if you don't like literary analysis the lectures will be boring. To make matters worse, she takes attendance each lecture, and an absence is half a letter grade off.

Keller's lectures can get a bit tedious, but that isn't for her lack of enthusiasm. Personally, I just didn't like most of the books. She's willing to take questions but doesn't always give the answer you're looking for. Grading is based entirely on your TAs so make sure you know what they're looking for.

I had her for a FIG leader first semester and she was so awesome. She was like a mother to us all and cared so much. Lynn gave such a spirited interpretation of all the lit & suggested books that we might like almost every day. I have no complaints about the woman. She is just a wonderful person and wants everyone to succeed. We still keep in touch

Great for small class discussion. She really pushes you to think critically about the literature you are reading and will contest you on points if you are straying from the text. That said, be prepared to do plenty of reading.

She is a little bit crazy a nd lectures are completely useless; she would often ramble on about some far fetched analysis. Did minimal work and still got a good, basically it depends on your TA because he does all the grading.

Lots of reading and writing. Read 7 books, wrote two analytical essays, did a history report, and took two exams. Plus every week for discussion a response paper was due. Attendance was mandatory which I thought was kind of ridiculous, but other than that it was a good class.

This class is not very hard, however, there is a lot of reading. Professor Keller's lectures were pretty interesting as well as the subject of the class. If you get a good TA, you should do well in the class.
