She is incredibly sweet and caring however she is not a terrible professor and makes the course literally impossible to do well in, she doesnt give good feed backs and treats the course like everyone has a PhD in chem, stay clear if possible!!!!

Comment:
Karen was very nice and very passionate about organic chemistry. My only complaint might be that when she tested reactions she would always write them in ways she had never used in examples or in ways written in the text book. We found studying for reactions to be difficult.

I would never recommend her. Great person to talk to but she should be a chemist instead of a prof. Her teaching methods were very confusing and so unclear. She made things more confusing than they should have been. I found myself relying on tutors online videos. If you have her, good luck. Definitely would not take her again.

She beats around the bush with everything - Unclear, oversimplifies and actually makes things more complicated. Flies through material. Tests are tricky. Enthusiastic teacher, approachable, but drags on and on and honestly flies through examples - lots of independant study needed. Practice and keep up and you'll do fine.

She was quite confusing and a bit frantic at all times. She treats her students a bit like her children. Overall, an alright teacher but you have to work very hard to keep up in her class and she doesn't repeat anything twice so things get overhwhelming pretty quickly. Then again, I didn't take Chemistry in grade 12 so it might just be me.

It was her first time teaching the course and i think she did fabulous. She was into it, she was organized, the tests were fair. She did notes and powerpoint, and bent over backwards trying to get the powerpoints take up as little ink as possible and had a variety of types of slide layouts to boot. Very accomadating.
