Comment:
Pittman is really helpful one on one. This class will teach you a broad skill set of Photoshop, Adobe, & InDesign basics. Not recommended for those proficient in these. He is a little confusing about due dates and instructions, but it isn't horrible. Review notes for the midterm and you will be fine. Most points come from 5-pt assignments. Easy.

He is such a nice guy, always really helpful with assignments and would move due dates back for the class if everyone was having trouble. Sometimes it was frustrating because we only knew week by week when assignments were due (wasn't stated on the syllabus) but I would definitely recommend him, for his teaching style and for the overall class.

Very nice man however very scatterbrained. Offers good feedback and cracks corny jokes. Overall, a good teacher for the basics but you may end up teaching yourself quite a bit if you do invest time in the applications. I recommend him.

Class is a very easy A, but due dates will be hard to keep track of. Also, you'll probably get lost if you don't come to every class. But I got a 98% and I basically slept through the class every day. Just make sure you know how to use a computer.

Dr. Pittman is always open to questions and he's good about meeting with students. The only problem is that he doesn't always explain things clearly the first time around. It's really hard to follow his instructions on assignments. If you express your concerns, he'll do his best to help you. Overall, this is a pretty easy class if you go to class and the labs.

He is the MOST BORING professor I've ever had BY FAR. Take other work to class because little of what he says applys to the class, and what does apply will be contradicted by him later, so it is pointless to go for any reason other than attendance...very easy A, but not worth it for what a waste of time it was. good luck staying awake.

Tests and labs were super easy but it's really boring and poor old Pittman has a tendency of repeating stories and lecture material. As long as you go and put a little effort into the class it's pretty much an easy A. I definitely recommend 221 with Pittman

this class caused me alot of stress. we did not have formal labs so we basically had to teach ourselves to use complicated graphic design programs. for people experienced in indesign or photoshop, this class will be a breeze. for those who arent, beware. it will suck.

Really not that bad of a class. MACs suck, but the lab assistants are helpful with telling you how to use them. Class is boring, but you usually get out early. Keep all the handouts - he likes to use them as test questions.

Using MAC computers in the graphics lab sucked, I usually copied the assignment folder to the harddrive and took it to the library to work on. Ron Pittman is open to questions, although they are not clearly answered sometimes. You need experience in Photoshop and Indesign in this class to get through it. He helped me during office hours.

This class almost killed me. Unless you've already had a lot of experience in Photoshop & InDesign, graphics will not be easy. Pittman is a nice enough guy, but he never really seems to know what's going on. Open to questions, but they never get answered sufficiently.

Probably the most boring and most unorganized professor I have ever had but he is super easy. He'll either put you to sleep or make you want to strangle him.

An alright guy who teaches alright. Not a bad class by any means. If you have to take this class do it with this guy. He'll put you to slepp but the grade will be worth it.

this class was awful. you can tell he spent no time at all developing lectures b/c you'll often hear him say "wait. did i tell you that already??" if you have homework or studying you need to do, bring it to class.. he takes attendance. labs aren't bad at all, though my lab instructor was foreign and couldn't explain anything we asked her.

As an advisor, he won't sit there and map out your whole future for you, but he was always really helpful when I had questions and even though he may not be super exciting, he is genuinely nice and you can tell he wants to help.

Yes, the class is very boring, a waste of time and mass work, but he grades assignments fairly easy and is flexible with quizzes and due dates. He repeats himself alll the time, but takes attendance. Lab sucks, but you only go 4 times and if you have to take the class I recommend having him as your teacher.

Could he be anymore monotone and dry. So much work, and its all common sense, you learn nothing useful, and its all for few points. He's very anal with his grading too. yuckk!

You will hate this guy with a passion from the moment he enters the room on the first day. He's very disorganized, EXTREMELY unclear in assignment directions (I have to email him like 3 times per assignment for clarification), labs are boring and pointless, the class is a ton of work for few points, and you learn NOTHING. Too bad it's required.

He'll tell you one thing one day and another thing the next. Good luck guessing what to do on your papers, which are a lot of work for few points. He counts attendance. Labs aren't very beneficial.
