Comment:
Listen, Professor Buck is a tough , but she genuinely cares about her students. Is her class passable? YES! Does she give out easy A's? NO! Which makes her grades all the more valuable. Her class is not for the weak or unmotivated student. As long as you do your work, follow the instructions, READ the syllabus you will be fine.

This class is boring and you dont really learn anything, if you dont do things her way (which is really hard to figure out due to the way she structures the course) you'll get a 0 even if you did all the work, takes point off for the stupidest things. Dont take her unless you have to.

I TRULY don't understand why she has so many bad reviews. This was one of the most straight forward classes I have ever taken. Yes there will be work, but Prof. Buck always answered my emails within 2 days max. She can be a little sassy, but I understand why; students do not follow the instructions that she has already given 100 times! Take her!

This was easily the most unorganized class I have ever taken, and I've taken a lot of online classes as a full-time working student. There were endless technical difficulties and the syllabus is broad as can be. When you have a specific question, she replied "it's in the syllabus"... NO IT ISN'T. Avoid like the plague.

if you are considering taking any of her classes my advice to you is just don't. This was the most unorganized class I have ever enrolled in. And she won't answer any of the questions you ask she will just tell you to read the instructions. but the instructions are incredibly broad. Regret taking this class with her more than anything I ever have.

I liked that there weren't many assignments. If you read the syllabus CAREFULLY, as well as checking for any email updates from her (things are subject to change), there is no reason why you should make anything less than an A. If you email her professionally, she will kindly reply but if you show no professionalism, she will be mean.

Despite getting an A, this class is kind of boring with no actual teaching besides the textbook which she wrote in order to do the quizzes. Handful of assignments to be done with specific criteria to follow for speeches, peer reviews, and more. Fast email response, how she responds is up to your professionalism and if she's understanding enough.

She's literally the worst. Her instructions aren't clear, her class is boring, and she is super rude. Do not take her. She has made this semester so unnecessarily stressful and I literally feel like I didn't learn anything useful. One of the worst professors I've ever had.

Honestly one of the worse professors I've ever taken at U.H. Her assignments are boring, her online class is dull, and the presentation assignments are a joke. For the final presentation you need to have 3+ "audience members", and you need to "zoom in" once while having the presentation, no after editing either. She's ridiculous. Do no take her.

I am very disappointed with UH hiring such professor! The problem is she teaches a lot of the communication classes. She ridiculous, very rude, unhelpful, horrible at teaching, and very unorganized . I really hope UH consider bringing another professor and fire her. She makes students so furious and UH should take this into consideration

I took this professor the final semester of my undergraduate career (November 2015). I almost forgot about her until I saw some old emails. She was very rude in email communication and her class was extremely unorganized. Respect, regardless of status, should be a basic requirement. Do not take her.

She needs to learn how to treat her students with RESPECT. She grades harsh on email assignments, when she can't even be considerate with her own emails. Coming from a COMM professor, this is contradicting! She doesn't do much work. There are multiple video assignments, she expects them to be interesting AND follow her unreasonable format. Not fair

Assignments are based on vague instructions from the syllabus. Provides no resources or feedback. Disorganized BlackBoard, is pedantic, and is condescending through email. Argues with students on lack of clarity when called out. Save your grade and take someone else.

She is a tough teacher avoid at all possible if you can. I past with a B. You have to go all out to get a decent grade. She does not teach the course at all, just gives you vague instructions it's either a hit or miss with her.

3 video speeches + 14 chapter quizzes. Video rubrics are vague and she doesn't explain what the things on her grading rubric mean. Only had sample videos for Video3 and were unclear on if they were samples of good videos or not. She thinks you should know everything on your own. I only got an A- because I've been in Speech and Debate for 7 years.

Do not take this professor. She is the worst!!! Instead of making you comfortable with speaking in front of a camera and feeling comfortable to be "business professional" she will create fear. Not the way a professor should teach, she has no life with the way she grades and what she's asking for on her assignments.

You have to take the time to work hard at your grade. Its not scary she is super clear on what she expects. A lot of video submissions as your grade. If you don't like online or like taking videos then this wouldn't be your class to take. She is amazing and available for you! She does appreciate professionalism hence business communications.

Honestly horrible professor! Do not even attempt trying to email her, she makes you feel less than. The saddest part is I didn't this class and she is the only one that teaches it. Her video assignments are guessing and checking based because the examples suck and she's not specific on what she wants. The only reason I got an A is because of God.

Even if you're a communications major you won't get an A on your presentations Very picky everything must be absolutely perfect 3 Video Presentations 14 quizzes Does not give enough examples on how to do your presentations usually have to guess what she's looking for Extra credit was getting blood drawn for school I faint so couldn't participate
