Although he is a very sweet person this was the hardest and most confusing class I have ever taken at drake. Your entire grade is based on three exams and your lab grade, which is made up of weekly quizzes, so if you are not a fan of tests stay far, far away. If you don't study ALL material the continuous exams really hit your grade hard.

Intro stats is hard. Advanced stats is not. Get through intro and take advanced. You will learn so much more in advanced stats, and he's a really easy grader for advanced. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Klipec is one of the few stats professors who can explain things in a way that makes sense. You will have to work for your grade, but you will learn far more in his capable hands than you will with anyone else. Make sure you're reading, doing all study questions, and reviewing the PPs outside of class-- they're not required, but they help.

Dr. Klipec is an excellent professor who is extremely knowledgable in a multitude of subjects. Many people find his introductory stats course to be difficult. I'm not going to lie; it can be. You MUST go to every lecture and pay close attention. If you are able to answer the review questions he provides, you will ace the test. Also, very funny guy!

Klipec is hilarious, and brilliant. I don't think many students realize how respected he is in his field. I've taken several classes with him, and his tests are hard but not unreasonably so. Honestly all you have to do is pay close attention in lecture.

Klipec is a great professor teaching a sucky topic. I attended every lecture and tried my best to participate in class and he really noticed. When I bombed my second exam he worked with me to make sure I was ready for the final and make my second exam worth less overall so it didn't hurt my grade in the class overall. Definitely saved my grade.

Don't skip and just listen to his lectures. You might as well memorize the power points because you will fail the class if you don't. A lot of people have to retake his Stats class because it's hard, but doable.

He gave us SO much reading, it was impossible. But the exams are just what is in his powerpoints. For this class he just lectures at you for an hour fifteen with a few jokes thrown in. The tests are ridiculously hard. Just study study study and you probably still won't have studied enough.

Klipec is a great guy. He lays out the material he wants you to know very clearly and reviews for a week before each test. His hearing deficit always makes communication in class slightly entertaining. Be ready for a lot of super lame puns that make class slightly less boring.

His lectures should be prescribed to treat insomnia. One of his lectures had 120 Powerpoint slides, but only ~15 of the slides had actually relevant course info. Brace yourself. Exams are not as bad as you think they'll be.

It wasn't that Klipec was a hard teacher, the lectures are just boring and really hard to pay attention to. If you're one to listen to every word, you'll do fine. But if not i suggest reading the book chapters. He wrote it himself and it long but it covers what he covers in class. Lab is pretty straight forward

I was scared to take his class but it is alright. If you listen to his lectures, you will be totally fine. Lab helps a lot too. His tests are challenging but if you study and go into office hours once or twice in the semester, you will do great!

This class was not very hard, Klipec made it really easy to comprehend. This course is definitely worth it if you are looking to go to grad school. The tests were essay format but it is much better than a mathematical assessment. Personally, I did not find the course that hard and I would recommend taking it.

Advanced statistics is a very difficult course. That being said, Dr. Klipec did a great job of making it understandable. His expectations are high, but reasonable. Attendance is 100% required if you want to do well.

Though Advanced Stats sounds intimidating, Klipec makes this stuff digestable. Go to class every day and ask questions. Fill out the study guides thoroughly and get help on them, and the tests won't be that bad. Klipec is super helpful if you go to him with questions. Really, its not as bad as it sounds....if you're considering it, just take it!

Lectures are pretty boring, but if you go to almost every one the tests aren't that bad. He cracks REALLY lame jokes. Do the study guides (and study them)--they will be invaluable! GO TO LABS AND DO WELL!!! Those extra points will reeeally help. It isn't as hard as people say, if you pay attention and keep up with the material.

His classes are not blow off classes by any means...stats is hard because he goes into great depth of easy material and advanced stats is difficult, but helpful... history is a great capstone! Anyways...I'm a graduate student now in a PhD program and it was his reccomendations and classes that are helping me the most now! :)
