This is the worst class I have ever taken. I literally did not learn a single thing about statistics. Online quizzes are near to impossible; if you miss a few you are basically out of luck. Advanced stats is going to be impossible because I know nothing. He is a very nice man, but avoid taking this with him at any cost-it really hurt my GPA.

Does this man honestly think of himself as a professor? He is all over the place constantly. He taught us backwards and we never knew what assignments were due. He had typos in all of his emails and announcements. The schedule changed every few days to something completely new. So, so confusing. Learned NOTHING.

Worst professor ever. Hes a very nice guy, and extremely knowledable, but should probably not be teaching. His quizzes are impossible to pass...we had 20 point curves and people still failed. Avoid taking him if possible.

Great Class! This is the 3rd class that I have taken with Dr. MacEwen and he is a great guy. The most important thing to remember when taking any class with him is to ask questions, if you are trying he is willing to help.

The worst professor, teacher, tutor or anything I have ever had, including elementary school and everything. These Stats classes were just terrible. You don't learn a thing, you are lost when going into another class. It is a joke. Goodnight moon, stay away from him.

From what I have heard he is a good professor in other classes, but he is NOT a good statistics prof. He is very confusing and all over the place. I got an A in intro to stats with Kolar (AMAZING), but struggled with 360 with MacEwan. Grade is based on 4 quizzes (but you can drop one, so its really 3). Very nice friendly man but confusing professor

Absolutely useless, I can't believe he is still a professor. Not much of one though... He cannot explain anything, and when you are done with his class, you realize that you have learned nothing, and recieved a terrible grade to boot. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Awesome professor. Very nice and easy to talk to, he really wants his students to succeed. He made advanced stats completely painless! Learning/motivation tests were word-for-word definitions, couldn't have made it easier for us. Great guy and always available for you.

Memorizing the definitions out of the book word-for-word will at first seem daunting... just get lots of index cards! Read the chapter for examples and some specifics, and you'll do fine.

Wonderful teacher. He cares about his class and wants everyone to learn the material. Downside---you have to memorize word for word things from the book. read the book and you will do fine

We all know stats is a crap class anyhow. MacEwan tries to make it painless. Only 3 exams with one question/write up per exam. He grades fairly and is not too hard. He has the oddest/dorkiest sense of humor that can't help but make you smile. Take with him if you must.

While stats is a demanding subject, MacEwan does a good job of teaching necessary concepts and is very helpful outside of class, take him the tests are not that difficult if you study and he can be entertaining in a dry sense of humor way

Stats 261 is a horrible class, however MacEwan makes it as painless as he can for the students. Just a quiz every other Friday with about 5-7 questions and no final. Easy grader and lecturer. He is monotonous, but is funny in class. If you must take this hellacious class, take with him.

Macewan is a horrible professor, he is very unclear and very boring. He obviously knows a lot about stats but doesnt seem to care if we do or not, with each test the questions get fewer and fewer, how ridiculous is it to have 3 questions on a final. He sucks, avoid!

How much you learn in class depends on how much you put into it so participate. Very open to questions and helpful. Willing to work with you if you show some effort. Definately reccommend the class!

This is, absolutely, the easiest class a psych major can take. If you put in at least a little effort it is a guaranteed A. MacEwan is great. He brings food in for the class on Fridays. You can't beat that.

His expectations are simple: memorize the text boxes (which are either 1 sentence definitions or little charts). Best tip for the class: flash cards. You can even study for the quiz in class, as his lectures are unneccessary for your grade.

Very easy - just memorize definitions from the book for weekly quizzes. You don't learn at all since there is no motivation to come to class. He's somewhat funny, but also boring.
