Dont miss class, pay attention, ask questions. I actually found his dad jokes really funny and they kept me awake. What I really like is that all the material he tests you on is in his lectures which is very ideal because the textbook chapters are extremely long. If you struggle but he sees you coming to class and trying, he will help you.

4 lecture exams, 4 lab exams, curve if average is below 70%. I like that he adds deductive questions to the lecture to make it feel like you are thinking about the material, not just memorizing it. He often tells bad dad jokes that are not funny, but he at least acknowledges that they arent good (nothing offensive though). Highly recommend!

By far one of the worst teachers Ive taken. Super hard class and lecture. He thinks when one person understands the lecture everyone does and doesnt go over it again. Calls you out randomly during lecture. He was a little nice when it came to grading he gave extra points. And he does not require a textbook just assumes you have one.

This professor , is hands down the worse ever. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Has no flow, feels like hes just reading out little facts about the stuff he knows. Not a teacher.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! this professor is unorganized, unprofessional, rude, and unhelpful! the entire class is based on 8 exams, and he makes no effort to accommodate for the online environment. I am a UCSB graduate and this is hands down the hardest class I've ever taken and was forced to drop. started with about 30 students and only 8 are left

This guy does not enjoy teaching his students. When asked questions he will either make a joke, tell the student to figure it out, or tell them to rewatch all the lectures. He is constantly complaining that the class needs to be in person but doesnt change his teaching style to aid what we lose from learning online.

I love the "dad jokes" he makes. They really help you remember the material. He makes this class interesting. He teaches you in a way that helps you deduce answers rather than simply memorizing, as there is too much anatomy to memorize. He shows you how the info makes sense. I wish he taught all of the science classes I need to take! He's awesome!

4 MC lecture exams (last exam has an essay as stated on the syllabus) and 4 lab exams that are worth 100 points each. No other assignments or extra credit, but he does curve each exam if the class average is below 70%. Almost all exam material comes from lecture if you go or watch recordings. Makes some jokes some find crass, but overall nice guy.

Seriously don't take this professor. Apply to another school if you have to. It's not worth the amount of stress and torture. Didn't attend the first 2 weeks of class due to the professor not sending out the zoom links and he blamed the students for not reminding him. Course not adjusted for online learning and he made many females uncomfortable.

Get ready to learn on your own. 8 exams, 1 surprise essay not included in the syllabus, course objectives not clearly defined, passive aggressive, almost no lecture/PowerPoint material was relevant to the exams, zoom links not sent out, highly disorganized, & many inappropriate, unprofessional comments made. He is not qualified to be a professor.

Roland Rodriguez is the most disrespectful and useless professor I have ever come across. I actually have no idea how this professor is even legally teaching. He makes so many inappropriate remarks and comes across as being extremely sexist. The guidelines and criteria are not laid out clearly and he doesnt test on his ppt or lecture material.

STAY AWAY! He is horrible! All he does is tell us how difficult his students are and that we bore him. He is so unorganized! No extra credit, no homework and no quizzes to help your grade. All he does is scribble on the white board thinking hes teaching you. He was reported to the dean. Over 30 students dropped out! Stay away! Your GPA will drop.

WORST. PROFESSOR. EVER. Do not take any course with Professor Rodrigues. He lacks motivation, and is extremely unprofessional. my class started off with about 30 students and by the end there was about 8 left. I had to drop this course because of his horrible lectures and poor teaching. Other students had spoken with the dean about him.

Rodriguez is unorganized, you definitely have to read the textbook and rewatch lectures to get a good understanding of the material. I understand how people say he's the hardest professor, but students need to realize that they need to put in the work to get a good grade. He is very fun in his lectures and wants you to succeed in your career.

At least his online lecture is.... so unorganized and unclear. I understand that the situation makes everything harder for professors but I wish at least he comes prepared for lecture. As long as you study hard A's possible and he's not a tough grader (considering its genetics).

This course was exceptionally harder to manage with this professor. He was extremely disorganized. Zoom links were never set appropriately for students to initiate their lectures, he'd point at images on google and literally "teach" you from there, and lastly, he made inappropriate"jokes" that were cringeworthy . This professor is not worth it.

The professor is very unorganized!! He is not nice to students if they had questions. His lectures are vague, I had to self study. For labs, we had to label his drawings. He does not give our study guides for labs. Exams are monitored through zoom, and if he fails to send the zoom link, we are expected to re-take the exam.

Aside from the professor being very unprofessional, his lectures are disorganized and bland- making the content difficult to understand. Consequently, you'll have to self teach yourself in order to do well in this class. His tests include problems from his lecture. Aside from labs, his exams are the only thing which make up your grade.

you could find a better genetics professor somewhere else. if you're taking this class online, good luck my dude. so he tells you to turn on your camera, ok, not biggie. but if he catches you looking down and taking notes (like what you would normally do), you're gonna get called out and get scolded. teaches like it's "his way or the highway"

He is completely unproffessional. The "jokes" he makes during class can be directed at students and the stories he tells are so off topic and he wastes like 30 minutes on them. His test are very specific of the lecture material so you really have to understand what he's talking about. Anatomy isn't an easy subject but he just makes it worse.
