Mr. Navarro is an inspiring and caring teacher. I took Introduction to ARCH and freehand drawing. The assignments helped me to get an idea about the field. He always give you a good feedback so you can improve your grade. I enjoyed the lectures and learned from the architecture guests during classes.

I rate the level of difficulty a 3 not because the course itself is difficult it's very self explanatory being a drawing class. He expects TOO much for an online 8 week summer course. Compares you to every past and present student he has. If you're the kind of student that appreciates a supportive genuine professor I do not recommend Navarro.

Hes an easy going guy. In the class, especially drawing, you gotta try. The work itself is already a whole lot because its drawing and you need to spend your time on it. He'll show you where you should improve and where you're doing well. I do think he does look at those "top" students the most, but he always tries to help..

Strongly unsatisfied. He ignores the calls of help from students who he refers to as the "unintelligent ones". I know because he did that to me. Apart from his teachings, iv'e seen him disrespect other students as well in an uneducated manner. Ugly from the inside and out. Simply, simply a horrible instructor.

He constantly changes his mind, and provides guidelines that he would disagree when you present it with your final works. Most of the students have to get critiques from other instructors, because his was never helpful. He discouraged us and make us lost in the process, but later tells you he made you struggle to learn. REALLY??

If you are new to architecture, you don't know what to do to pursue it, you can ask him. He will offer you many techniques and suggestions. I took Env 101 and ENV 102 with him,he reminded me to set a goal at the very beginning and then go for it.When I applied to UCLA he gave me very helpful critics on the work I summit. Finally my dream come true.

I took this class in Spring,2009. It is the second sequence of the Design studio. I have designed a real project during that semester which I sold the project for 500 dollars. In this class, you learn how to design in purpoes, how to corparate what you have learned in the previous class into 3d modelings. You begin to open your eyes and minds.

This calss is the beginning class of architecture. He will guide the students in different ways. From exploring architecture through modeling to take field trip to downtown LA, he can provide students different critical thinking ways in architecture. If you do your work and cherish the time that you spend on the class, you will get good grade.

His design studios lay down fundamentals(design disciplines & skills) so students can be well-prepared for 2nd year studios, which would be more demanding for those who complain about his workload. His critiques are to bring the best out of your idea. He's willing to help you in every way, you just need to communicate with him.

If you really love architecture you will love his classes. He will help as much as he can to make you understand the all about design. He is very helpful, he critiques your design as a architecture teacher has to be. If you are doing something he will let you know inmediately. I really learned a lot on both of his classes. I highly recommend him!!

mr navarro is a great teacher for students who take architecture serious and actually want to be architects; they will benefit from his classes. he helps you develop a design language that is necessary for the next series 201/202 design classes. his articulation and critiques helped me push myself to the next level just like a design teacher should

CAUTION STUDENT!!!If you have a chance, do not take his class! He maybe a good teacher before, but not anymore! I took both of his 101&102 class, he give us nothing but head ache! He keep changing his mind again and again, even two day before final model, he will ask you to change your model. If you ask for help, his critique is totally BS.
